Cornell, given the name you carry, you surely know more than I do about the works of good old Chris, so I'm glad you agree.

So, I felt called out because I am among those who said they should have disbanded after the first LP. Let me explain: I’ll start by saying that I am NOT a fan of grunge, I am NOT a fan of RATM, and so I am NOT speaking from a fan's perspective. Audioslave delivered a surprising debut ("Like A Stone" and "Cochise" are among my favorite songs), a second album technically impeccable but already emptier (few songs living up to the previous one, perhaps only the unjustly underrated "Be Yourself" and "Your Time Has Come"). This one, however, is not particularly bad or unbearable; it’s empty. Morello is really annoying (refs. "One And The Same"), the only one who manages to pull it off is as always Chris, the rest of the band recycles endlessly with few ideas and sometimes adds funky elements that fit as well as a cabbage in a snack. There’s no denying it, for me it's not a valid work. Oh, then again, De Gustibus. I have nothing against Cornell or the genre he plays (I even appreciated his new solo work and reviewed it too), it’s just that I believe that if they had parted ways after the first, they would have left a better image in musical history, that’s all. Nice and impeccable reception, the best track on the album is "Jewel Of The Summertime."

I can't stand them, but live they must be amazing.
