MacKaye gets angry because it's his style to get angry about these things. He is a consistent person, crazily consistent, and he always will be. I don’t care if people make cannons or swords at concerts. To me, it's all allowed, but you go to concerts for the music, and that doesn’t mean you have to stand still like corpses, but it also doesn’t mean you should act like idiots... that's what nightclubs are for... right? :)

When I saw them live, Bianconi almost shit his pants from fear at times, and I remember a concert of musicians who weren’t that talented, but seemingly sincere... then who knows. Anyway: <<Charlies, doesn't surf>>

Not everyone. There are musicians with a brilliance who hate it when people get distracted from the only attraction at a concert: the music. I think of Ian MacKaye, who will give you hell if he catches you taking pictures instead of listening. Obviously, everyone goes to a concert with their own personality, but from the theses and justifications expressed by the "moshers," I still believe that I go to the concert, I find the spot I think is best, and if someone suddenly pushes me or does similar crap, I kick them in the ass since explaining to them civilly that we’re there for the music doesn’t do a damn thing because for them, music is just an accessory.

I’m with those who don’t understand what grunge has to do with it; honestly, I don’t get grunge either. Fortunately, I don’t get grunge. According to Buzz, the main influences on the Melvins from that period are Black Sabbath, Flipper, and the Black Flag of My War... for me, the music of the Melvins is a mix, and the covers they’ve done throughout their career serve as proof: Lexicon Devil by Germs, Interstellar Overdrive, Venus in the Fur, Youth of America by Wipers, Going Blind by Kiss... basically everything.

I've never been angry with anyone on debaser. It's just my attitude, but in reality, I couldn't care less about other people's opinions, whether positive or negative... so you can say whatever you want, it doesn't make much difference to me.

mmm... as far as I know your version is the original one. ozma single does not exist, gluey does, printed recently for the ipepac and includes songs that were excluded from the original... so you have the original version of the two records. as for which Melvins I prefer, I've never been able to find an answer. in my opinion, the best they ever did is Bullhead in '91 and Stoner Witch in '96... right now I’ll say my favorite is Stoner Witch, but if you had asked me two days ago I would have said Hostile Ambiente Takeover and if you had asked me a week ago I would have said Bullhead... I don’t know, for better or worse, I like all their periods except for a couple of albums.
