...I think back to the day spent today, school is over, much less stress on my mind. Tonight, the Baustelle are performing. I'm not really a fan of theirs, that's for sure, however, I truly enjoyed their last two albums and after having to "miss" the date in Turin, I decided to make up for it by going to see them in Cuneo... What more could you want from life?

In the Nuvolari park, there's an air of tranquility... the atmosphere is very relaxed. Better this way, because they'll start quite late... together with my fairly excited friend (he's the fan!) I drink some beers, talking about this and that... until Bianconi and company hit the stage, and it's a complete success. They kick off with "Antrophopagus", and it's clear the band is in top shape, Rachele is always precise with her keyboard and my doubts about Francesco's voice disappear... it's the first time I've seen him sing really well without the usual coarse off-key notes. The entire rhythm section is excellent, and of course, the acoustics as well...

The concert is focused on the latest album "Amen", as was to be expected... "Antrophopagus", "Colombo", and "Charlie fa Surf" are perfect, there's no moshing, but there's dancing and singing... in short, the guys know how to hold the stage... anyway for me, the highlights were the excellent performances by Rachele on "L'Aeroplano" and "Dark Room", the girl's voice proves to be even more "real" and sensual live. Bianconi interacts with the audience several times. The songs flow quickly, maybe even too quickly... "Spaghetti Western", "Il Liberismo ha i Giorni Contati", "Alfredo" and when "L'Uomo del Secolo" arrives, the frontman in jacket and tie with a nerdy look introduces it as follows: "The one we're doing now is a cheerful song... but not that much..." and we smile. There's also some return to the previous work, like "I Provinciali", "Il Corvo Joe", and "La Guerra è Finita", a piece that for me was the climax... "Baudlaire" closes the concert...

The Baustelle return to the stage to bid us farewell, and they do so with the excellent "Un Romantico a Milano" and "Andarsene Così"...

I leave Nuvolari truly satisfied and very surprised, with my travel companion who, as we walked, kept hoarsely shouting "Charlie fa Surf... quanta roba si faaaa... ", drawing all eyes on us from the passersby... honestly, I didn't expect them to sound so good... not after having seen the terrible performance on the first of May...
