I remember an interview with Pasolini that’s circulating on the web where he expressed happiness for Totò, for the Totò of Uccellacci Uccellini, for the Totò of Che cosa sono le Nuvole?, and he felt pity for Totò and for the fools who reassessed his films from the 50s based on their false intellect. Totò doesn’t make me laugh, like many things created to make people laugh...
