Fred Buscaglione A Qualcuno Piace Fred

Ghigo and Celentano and also R. Gianco yes, but I don't think they were fundamental for rock 'n' roll and for a turning point in Italy. For sure, more important were Buscaglione, Carosone, Modugno, and then Battisti... etc.

Well, perhaps in addition to Carosone and Buscaglione, you could have mentioned Domenico Modugno who, in his own way, despite being farther from America and closer to Italy, was very important for the developments of Italian song, offering an alternative to various Claudio Villa...

"Bitter love, take me to the train!!!..." nice record, when Tiromancino were still unknown and less sentimental.

Vasco Rossi La Compagnia

If Bocelli really said that Lucio Battisti couldn't sing, I agree that he's an idiot. Incapable? I don't understand opera, but when he sings Italian songs, it makes me cringe. About the song: simple but effective, nice, definitely not a masterpiece. Regarding Vasco: he's become a nuisance; for me, he could have retired a long time ago. Anyway, the first albums are good.

If you're interested in the genre, during those years there were also the UNDERGROUND LIFE (among others) of which I highly recommend "filosofia dell'aria."

@MATTEOWOLF: ...mmm..., well, I'm not entirely convinced that Litfiba are better than CCCP and Diaframma. I consider them the top 3 Italian bands of all time. If I have to choose, I say CCCP for the high standards they maintained over the years and continued with CSI, then Diaframma for their coherence and artistic integrity, and only at the end Litfiba for the brevity of their artistic journey, which I appreciate. But it’s better not to make rankings... :-)
