I connect to your last comment “At least two listens are needed for the good Rosso.” I hope the second listen will reserve some great surprises for me because, unlike the "little brother" Du & Jag Döden, I didn't enjoy this one as much. Musically it is captivating, yes, but repetitive; the formula for composing the tracks is always the same. Listening to the whole album from start to finish is an indescribable heaviness, and the leader's monotonous voice doesn't help (and the language even less...). Unfortunately, my first encounter with Mr. Rod wasn’t the happiest, but as we know, one shouldn't judge anyone by first appearances, so I’m holding off on giving opinions, even though I reiterate that given the monotony of the first listen, there must be truly significant surprises that I missed to make me change my mind drastically
In any case, I prefer a thousand times to be offered an album that isn’t to my taste (which doesn’t mean it’s bad, just that I don’t like it) but is still original, rather than yet another shiny little English band post whatever :-)

As promised, I bought it! This is Rod. The album is very good; I won't take a stance on the rating—numerical games that are ultimately meaningless—but the compositions, arrangements, recording, and production are all very well done. I can hear influences from many genres that were popular years ago in Europe and that probably marked the band's musical career. Unfortunately, not understanding a damn thing in Swedish doesn’t help me enjoy the album, which, despite being good, feels a bit heavy to me; let’s just say it’s not exactly everyday listening... Anyway, great recommendation, I can only confirm your praises for the band, excellent! ;-)

Jumping on one foot over half of the comments because I don't feel like spending half the afternoon here, my voice has the same effect as a farm machine reviewing! Listen to 3-4 tracks on the (always blessed) tube and all my desire to download the album has vanished. With all due respect to the pants-less in the front row, and always and forever in my honest opinion...

As announced by Darkeve, I am one of those who hates track by track reviews and I probably also hate melodic metal... However, I don’t hate newcomers, so welcome! PS: I was just looking at your personal profile (no, I can't mind my own business...): could it be that you like Depeche Mode...?

Damn, that's awesome!!! I like you so much more (you were already a bit flamboyant before, so you won't be shocked by this ;-D) when you write about soft albums like this rather than heavy metal ones you've reviewed! I don't know the album, but Ribot is a guarantee of genius for me; even if he occasionally strays off course, he remains immense!!!

I only have Bar Kokhba, it's stuff from another world!!! I've been planning to buy it for so long, but other things always take precedence... I'll make sure to get it, along with the Masada Guitars of course! As for the review, the rating speaks for itself.
