kataklisma, I just wanted to say that even if there may be a certain disguise regarding fiesolana's sexuality, we cannot rule out a priori that they might be telling the truth. And if they are actually a man who enjoys pretending to be a woman, I'm happy for them and at peace with myself; I certainly don't want to make it a national case. Anyway, know this, laurafiesolana: in certain areas I don't attach any importance to sex, and DeBaser is one of those areas. Hi:

Sorry kataklisma but where did you get that she's not a woman? Oh, maybe I'm just not aware of certain things, you know I'm a man (and you can trust me, huh...).
Is it perhaps the fact that laurafiesolana talks a bit more openly about sexuality (typical of men) that makes you believe she's not really a woman?
Ah, I almost forgot, not a bad review, although I didn't really appreciate the introduction too much.

I quote The Punisher (which feels a bit strange to me) regarding the first part, but the rest is fine. I don't have the album in question, but I have plenty of other Waits albums that certainly don't make me question his amazing talent.

Hi zaireeka. First of all, congratulations on the review, I’d say it’s as unique as it is beautiful. Is sample 2 by any chance "Things Behind The Sun"?

I just left a comment on uxo's review of Quartet. I haven't heard it, but I think I'll pop in to buy it at the first opportunity (I'm really into original CDs, haha!). In the meantime, I recommend checking out Metheny's MySpace; there's the first track of Quartet called A night away, give it a listen. I really liked it, then let me know what you think, okay? Bye.

Hi uxo. I want to start by saying that I haven't listened to either of the 2 albums (even though I was tempted to buy this one), but I did hear "A Night Away" on MySpace. I found it to be a very fresh track; I really liked it a lot. Of course, since I haven't listened to the entire album, I can't contradict you when you say it's harsh and too intellectual, and that the ideas are a bit stagnant. However, if you allow me, I'd like to give you a piece of advice: "I start with forced listening and, as usual, I end up just replaying it, without ever moving on to something else, until it fully sinks in." Listen to the music for your pure pleasure, not to review it. Anyway, congratulations, you did a pretty thorough analysis, as personal as it may be (remember, mine is just envy because I couldn't do the same).

I found this review late (about a month ago while looking for something by Metheny), and when I suddenly remembered it in a record store not long after, I couldn't help but buy this live album. Since that day, I've been spending my time at work waiting to go home so I can close my eyes again and do nothing but listen. Kudos for the review zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and thank you for introducing me to Brad Mehldau. Now it’s raining here too.
