Well, I agree with Fenni, three reviews of the same album in a couple of days are a bit too many. I could understand if they had different opinions on it, but in the end, all three are negative. Still, at least the review itself is well written...

I've heard it far too much in the company of Rage and Audioslave; I have no intention of hearing it in "solitary" either. I trust you and I'll avoid it. Well-written review.

According to you, you missed the difference between "comment" and "review." To clarify, Comment: a brief opinion (positive or negative) regarding the album, Review: a description of the album. If you wanted to give a "comment," there was already a review on Zeitgeist; you could have done it there...

I’m interjecting in the discussion (since practically all the DeUsers are here) just to give a piece of advice to Lovelorn (if he’s willing to accept it): when you have a different opinion from others, try to express it with a bit more calmness and with the understanding that others are free to think differently. It seemed to me earlier that you entered the discussion with tones that were a bit too heated. By doing so, even if you present valid and understandable points, you risk being misunderstood or coming off as arrogant (as happened before). Sorry for the paternalistic tone; I repeat, I didn’t mean to offend you, but only to offer a piece of advice. PS: and remember that I’m not much older than you...

This way, Gasba appeals to me more, even though I've always hated pop music (in the strict sense of the term). Doctor J, I agree: a work of art should be evaluated as a standalone thing, regardless of what its creator has done.

The review is written with passion, there’s no doubt about it, but statements like "The best rock band" or "one of the 100 most beautiful albums" seem a bit out of place to me. I might be wrong, but this is the first impression I had. Bye.

It wasn't a matter of steps, Cornell; it's that the value of Galileo's scientific discoveries is indisputable, while the value of a musician is debatable. And my opinion is that Jackson was a good singer and a good dancer, but nothing more.

I'm sorry, Gasba, but I don't agree with you. The whole genius argument is quite valid, but Michael Jackson is not among the geniuses (at least in my opinion), and putting him in a ratio of Galileo:science=Jackson:music makes me cringe a bit :-)
