And the vox of Billy C. - shall we talk about it, Deviljin? I saw a recent live performance on Letterman where they played 'Tarantula', and the big guy’s singing felt distant, cold: in a word, almost 'apathetic'. In short, lately, the highly personal voice of good old Billy has lost its emotional depth and 'angst' (especially in the studio) and relies too often on easy choruses, on 'la-la-la' or 'yeah'.

Sure, if the bald guy in the next episode with that 'legendary' theme keeps messing around with '70s hard rock, well, I can guarantee the 1 as well. With 'Future embrace,' he had fun with synth-pop, now he's reminiscing about heavy metal from his teenage years... He needs to get back to 'exploring' genres, Corgan, to have the taste for arrangements that catch you off guard or for a killer chorus—because otherwise, you risk reducing everything to the firepower of a live jukebox band, like the Who after Keith Moon; and that won't do. In that case, he should go back to writing his trivial (those definitely) 'poems.' ;)

It's true, it's not 'bullshit', the problem is that many were already ready for months with the hoe in hand, hunting boots on, the wild dog barking furiously next to them, and a bucket full of horse manure... And I believe you that you can't compare it to 'Mellon Collie', that would be insane.

I reiterate my deep disappointment: where are 'Evil', 'C'mere', 'Length of Love', 'Take You On a Cruise' or 'Narc' (picked at random) from 'Antics'?! It’s an album poor in ideas that infinitely recycles the Interpol style; at this point I'd prefer to listen to 'Talk, Talk, Talk' (and thanks, what an effort..), just to mention one from decades ago,
and goodnight to Paolino.
But, Arianna, you haven’t answered my previous question and it makes me sad.. :(
