Look at this, avoid it like the plague, or Amedeo Goria, ‘TOTBL’ and ‘Antics’ are valid and at least have remarkable writing.

Indeed, the only group that was truly 'progressive' in practice, and not just in words, has been King Crimson. Just listen to the discography of Fripp & co. - music in continuous 'evolution' (or progression...) devoid of useless frills and various ostentation. At the same time, the Crimson best embodied the term 'progressive' and were the furthest removed from the syrupy melting pot of fantasy literature or 'Wagner meets rock'; driven by a deep sense of musical exploration, almost never for its own sake: I see 'In the Court of the Crimson King' in this perspective as a more avant-garde work, while 'In the Wake of Poseidon' is the one that can truly represent KC in such a sonic context. But with a class and quality superior to 90% of prog bands.
