really beautiful this one. I don’t know why but really beautiful, damn!
Lucio Dalla Terra di Gaibola
Voto:
perhaps the most beautiful among Dalla's early works, (the first one doesn't count). I've been attached to it for years because I had the cassette with a mix of this and the soil of my hometown. In my opinion, during this period, Dalla had a great idol in his mind, James Brown, and he was trying in every way to imitate him. The first James Brown, the one from the world of men, the cover of I Got You, abcdefg, and in general many arrangements with the brass section and the bass highlighted (like in Orfeo Bianco), it even goes as far as La Borsa Valori from a few years later.

Oh my gosh, Paolo. A must-stop to greet you. Great!
Lucio Dalla Dalla-Morandi

A record I've listened to to the point of exhaustion, and as usual, those who speak ill of it do so only based on clichés, and obviously because they haven't listened to even half a note of what's inside. You’re right, ale, it's worth emphasizing the refinement of certain arrangements, obviously from the late '80s, but perhaps that's exactly why they're imbued with a surreal particularity that still occasionally makes me pull the CD off the shelf. Here Lucio reigns supreme, no doubt about it, but this is an album like no other, not just him and Morandi, but the entire magnificent ensemble of Italian song from the '60s up to that time, those who stayed behind the scenes but contributed to creating a unique sound. To think that it was only Dalla, like it was only Guccini, like it was only Ron, like it was only Battiato, and I could name others, who crafted masterpieces, means believing in fairy tales.

Nice one. It actually makes sense to involve GINC, as well as the whole cheerful crew of live electronic music, AMM, New Music Ensemble, Music Improvisation Company down to Cardew, Eno, and all the noise makers that follow. Rece feels a bit heavy, but fitting for the record, after all.

First! It actually sounds a bit tricky just to hear about it. But who knows what could happen under the ears.
