Hi Ima, upon rereading it, I actually thought that the sound of the thud might have meant you despised the album. In reality, I meant to say that it was indeed a well-planned commercial suicide, and the critics at the time judged it very poorly (in fact, if I remember correctly, it didn't rise much in the charts). I won't express my opinion on its value; I only listened to it once.

Hi extro/carlos, I knew (and hoped..) you would drop by because I know how much you love these, just like me. But you know, upon rereading it, the northern soul label never actually appears, you're right! In my defense, I can say I hinted at it subtly with various scattered references. The 2-tone, well..mod, return to the roots, attention to clothing, music that is in some way "rhythmic" and that still places strong emphasis on that component..but it's a third way, understood as an escape from both genres. To wrap up and return to your initial comment..one cannot deny that Searching has an undeniable charm, but this one for me has a greater state of grace, as if it were recorded in heaven. Tastes!
