Heaven 17 Penthouse and Pavement

Wow, what a welcoming! In just a few minutes, so many comments truly make me very happy. I’d like to thank especially @[Carlos] and @[imasoulman], who are two old adventure buddies here and whose reviewing support I can always count on :D
That said, I especially want to mention the source (thus indirectly responding to @[Dislocation]) of this review, just as it was for the one on the Dexys, which is the essential book by Reynolds "Post Punk." If you notice any similarities, it’s just because I wasn’t clever enough to rework it sufficiently… :D
Disloc: actually, I was born at the end of the 80s, so, as you can imagine, I only came to know Heaven 17 indirectly. But being lost to funk and cavernous voices, I fell in love with them right away. The reference to the sax isn't in the song Heroes, obviously, but in the album: I'm sure you’ll hear that same timbre in sons of silent age or in v2 schneider... for me, it was an instant similarity.

Steve Reich Music for 18 Musicians
Voto:
Perhaps the style that has most influenced popular music in the 20th century. He and Riley are the most copied. It's impressive because talking about it may seem trivial, but in reality, it's extremely difficult, especially when dealing with the concept of repetition. There might have been a very brief segment on Balinese music and generally music from the East, precisely because the reception is well done, simple, and written to help even those not familiar with the subject understand it, and it’s clear that you know what you're talking about.
Henry Flynt You Are My Everlovin / Celestial Power
Voto:
Ten for Henry Flynt. I would like to make a small clarification: just regarding indeterminacy, but fluxus does not exactly foresee the depersonalization of art and the artist. On the contrary, it was argued that all art is strongly personal and must necessarily deal with themes related to the artist. The most famous example is that of Lennon: Yoko (part of the movement) convinced him of this premise, and he could no longer conceive songs or artistic works that didn't address himself or his partner. In any case, a great read.
