Damn, how long has it been since I wrote it... good job, yours is simple, concise, and direct, without any unnecessary embellishments. After years of listening, it's still tough to decide which one is the best; this one is always in the running with OI&B. Anyway, here there are at least three killer tracks: Nella casa c'era, Come il sole all'improvviso by Paoli, and Tra uomo e donna. The arrangements are masterful, the cover art is stunning, and the production that you haven't mentioned deserves a separate praise. Unfortunately, a Zucchero album wouldn't have sounded like this anymore.
Lester Bangs Guida ragionevole al frastuono più atroce

Hi Tuci, first of all, I want to compliment you on the lovely review. I’ll start by saying that I have all three of Lester's books, and I've memorized them through countless occasional flicks and detailed readings. So I understand well what you've tried to express in these few lines, achieving it more or less, because Lester's body of work is truly universal. I want to respond, or insert myself into the conversation: fundamentally, I agree with you, and I share the opinion of Ima and Lec in the first two comments, without needing to add anything else. Lester was simply the greatest. For all those who criticized him, perhaps without reading even a page, but just because they sniffed a possible mockery of their idols, get used to it, Lester was like that. And it’s easy to see that he had a genuine adoration for the Rolling Stones, for Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile. Just as he did for Lou, of course. Bowie reeked of phony to him, but as early as '76, upon the release of Station to Station, he thought that was his best album up to that point (I’ve never read his opinion on Low or Heroes, I would love to). He couldn’t stand Led Zep, because right from the start they embodied that loss of innocence in "rock" that he felt strongly and that I probably can’t explain as I would like here. Anyway, yes: Lester was obsessed with sincerity, purity, and truth. That’s why he loved the Rolling Stones and Lou, because they had gotten so close to truth and sincerity that they risked losing their mental serenity, if not their very lives, and that’s why he hated J&R's albums so much after '76. Because they were (are) fake. That’s why he loved the Clash: because they represented the realization of all his hopes.
A tip for everyone: read this and Deliri desideri e distorsioni. They may not change your life (they came close with me), but knowing and understanding what this man was trying to tell us can truly do wonders for the soul.

So, the review is truly overflowing. I strangely know them, thanks (really?) to Blow Up, which has recently somewhat replaced Debasio in guiding new listens. They reviewed Bundytismo there, I listened to it all and it’s really a great album. I believe that the main reason for interest might lie in the lyrical research, which distances itself from both classic singer-songwriter styles - although inevitably there are inflections due to certain representatives of the genre, I think of Fabi or Gazzè, for example - and from the overused rap style. Really a nice discovery, they are enjoyable without demanding too much, but deep down you know they’re not foolish and that they want to know your opinion.

Oh my gosh, what a comeback. A 5 that I gladly give you without even reading. Terry Callier is absolutely incredible (have you heard the stuff from the 90s? Those are very beautiful too).
