Pomp Rock is a nice term, which expresses the kind of music from those 70s bands that tended to create grand, regal rock that is so annoying to Mr. Piero Scaruffi. Of course, music is music and classifications are worth what they are worth... As for Styx, I can't judge because I'm not familiar with any albums; I've only seen a few videos (including the one for Come Sail Away) "on www.youtube.com." I must say that in some small passages they reminded me of Queen, but I wouldn't want to say a heresy: Queen up until 1980 was a fantastic band (coincidentally, they are belittled by the usual Scaruffi) and likely Styx are musically weaker to be compared to the QUEEN. Am I wrong?
