Ai Otsuka Love Piece
Voto:
Ai Otsuka...ehhhhhh...how cute :-D! The review, let's be honest, is full of inaccuracies/errors. First: Love Piece is the 4th, not the 3rd album by Ai. Second: "initial rock that is 'Hai Thaitalai Iniku'"??? Are you sure you downloaded the right album?? The album opens with Mirai Taxi (the title you mentioned makes no sense in Japanese and doesn't exist in the tracklist). Third: the sensual depth in Otsuka's voice (which I like :D) is absolutely not there. Fourth: the twenty-year-old singer from Tokyo is actually a twenty-five-year-old from Osaka (!! Osaka!! And if you watch any of her live performances, you'll understand that this is not a trivial detail). Fifth: with "The Fly," I assume you mean "Katori senko": here, of course, we enter the realm of personal taste, but in my opinion, it's one of the best tracks on the album, truly disarming (I would recommend it to those who gave trust a rating of 1, and especially to those who lump Otsuka in with all the disposable idols that pop up every year in Japan) as it represents one of the many facets that Otsuka's music (which is not new to "intense" pieces like this one, just think of "ponpon") actually offers. Moreover, the genres you assign to the individual tracks seem rather random, confusing anyone reading who doesn't know the album (with the results we've seen in the comments). In short, the conclusions of the review are shareable (Ai Otsuka is an honest pop singer with good abilities, good tracks—often genuinely original—and good arrangements) but the content is just not right. And to finish the comments: Merzbow (not "i merzbow," by the way) has nothing to do with this, is it possible that whenever Japanese music is mentioned, he or another couple of noise projects has to come up?? What a drag! And, I repeat, Ai Otsuka is very different from the avalanche of idols that tarnish the Japanese charts; please don't mix them up. (what a rant!)

Once I read (or heard, who remembers) an excellent definition for Carey: she is perfect as a backing vocalist, not as an artist.

We're back to the usual... since you often invite other users to check the meanings of words in the dictionary, it would be good if you, sometimes, did the same: "predecessor" is only used with terms referring to people, so the way you use it at the beginning of the review is incorrect.

It's written really well, it's just a bit too long (due to track by track). Where is someone to comment?
