In my opinion, the issue isn't that people like Maiden, Charlie Parker, or anyone else for that matter; the issue is that often on this site, people try to "convert" others through insults or mockery, and honestly, I haven't felt that from Embryo, Lloyd, or Jawbreaker. That said, my thought is that if someone claims they can't stand Maiden, I don’t see that as an attack; on the contrary, I view it as a moment of possible sharing because there’s a lot to learn from our differences (I know, it's a cliché, but I believe it wholeheartedly). The fact that jazz or other so-called cultured music means little or nothing to me doesn't mean that I don't respect those who have made it their chosen music, and the funny thing is, discussing it (perhaps in a calm manner) is what makes it interesting. Ultimately, if we all agreed, you know how boring that would be!
