Well, I didn't mind it, child of its time... good review.

Dear Dave, I said I don't like them, but precisely because there is much, much (like really!) worse out there (especially in Italy), they deserve a little bit of respect in my opinion ;-)
P.S.: but would I be one of the mothers-in-law too? ;-)

Dear Vitalogy, I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: I was very intrigued by the cathartic research that I believe Gibson incorporated into this film, and also by the historiographical investigation that, in my view (based on my knowledge), was not done poorly; indeed, it aimed to be an iconic film, understood as a sacred image, and in my opinion, it succeeded. Bye!

Well, I don't understand Hugoniot's easy irony; when I say I have a certain age, it's not to come off as a guru, but to make it clear that I've seen certain things with my own eyes. Accusing the Verdena of commerciality seems exaggerated to me because they are the (latest) fruit of a movement that found itself in the vain search for an alternative (is that how you say it?) self-referential. Now, in 2007, this movement no longer exists, and to survive, everyone is managing as best as they can—that's all. I repeat, I don't even like them, but at least I see a bit of talent there, a talent that I don't see in many other phenomena of these years, whether Italian or not. Certain discussions that were not attentive to history bothered me.

And anyway, I didn't want to call you ignorant by quoting Manzoni, the fact that I didn't mention the name is due to my assumption that anyone is familiar with the story, that's all.

A film that represents a unique moment in the history of one of my favorite filmmakers; I find it beautiful for this reason as well. An admirable review despite its brevity.

Honestly, I didn't love it; I find it "cunning" ... maybe I'm just biased, but just looking at Di Caprio makes me break out in hives ...

I didn't mind "Deadwing," I still have to listen to this one. Nice review.
