Dearest Riccardo! Who tells you that the Beatles are overrated? Judging by how many of you are throwing shit (unjustly, in my view), I’d say the opposite. If you say you’re not influenced by Scaruffo, I have no reason not to believe you, though until now, every time I’ve encountered you on DeB, you express the same ideas, and you have to admit that. I’ll leave it at that. Bye!

I really like them. How beautiful are "Millions" and "Tnt"?

Hehehe, I'm not a prude (otherwise I wouldn't have reviewed this either!), I saw it years ago in the theater and I liked it even though I'm not too fond of the animation style used, but it's still a really great film. Are you writing the review or should I? ;-)

@riccardo: no, original doesn't necessarily mean artistically valid. They are two different concepts; often they go hand in hand, but just as often they do not.

Scaruffi has caused more damage than the Tsunami, unfortunately, and here you can see the results… (not in praising certain niche productions but in shoveling dirt on bands like the Beatles, which is nothing short of senseless). I still have to listen to the album, so I won’t give a judgment; however, on the Lennon/McCartney debate, there’s not much to discuss. In my opinion, Lennon produced 4 or 5 memorable songs amidst many forgettable ones, while good old Paul definitely has many more arrows in his quiver. Still, if I must choose one of the two, I pick them as a single entity in the Fab Four ;-), they made history, no matter what anyone says…

I quote Zaireeka, it's just ostentation from pseudo-alternatives, as is so trendy right now in our musical landscape. The review aside for its contents, which as you may have understood I don't agree with, I liked it because it displays a writing style that I find quite appealing.

P.S.: there is no rhetoric in the film but in the discussions it generates, it is not a film committed in the strict sense of the word but of pure, simple escapism, it cannot be evaluated philosophically (because there is no philosophical intent in the plot) but only technically and for the enjoyment it brings. In the first aspect it is objectively indisputable, in the second it comes down to personal taste; I found it very entertaining.

@radiodays, I assure you that seen in the cinema, it is a very unique visual experience—it should be viewed from this perspective; the rest is just rhetoric.

Well, with a bit of good will, you can also find these more niche films; you just need to stay informed. There are still good (few but good...) theaters in this our (cinematically mistreated) country.
