Dear Bartle, I am always perplexed when I see evaluations being made based on the age of the object under discussion. Surely in 2007, many things from the '60s are considered outdated and often appear excessively out of fashion, but in my opinion, things should be assessed mainly for what they meant at the time of their creation. Specifically, the F4 revolutionized (at least in America) the way series were conceived, giving rise to all that slew of Spin-offs that, for better or worse, characterized the entire Marvel (but also DC) production thereafter. This doesn't mean that all the output of this comic has been excellent, but there are things (I think of the entire "Galactus" Series from the mid-'60s, for example) that, if you'll permit me to use the much-hated term, have been seminal for all the subsequent superhero stories. Cheers!
