Quentin Tarantino Grindhouse: Death Proof - A Prova di Morte
Voto:
Trust me, in a few months we'll remember it only because the second part will come out, and in a few years, if someone does a review again, they'll probably get a lot of 3s (because I repeat, it’s just passable), a few 4s, and some 1s or 2s. It's a good escape movie, nothing more... The fact that it has little competition in theaters is also contributing to a more positive evaluation from the audience (the same goes for the already mentioned "Zodiac," a nice film but not a masterpiece as many in the audience would like us to believe), but that’s normal for this period... There’s just not enough action to aspire to sainthood. Bye!

Look, I don’t want to be a pain, but I invite you to wait a few months, and then I bet you’ll reassess it a bit negatively too (I’m talking about the film). As for the comments, of course, they might be just barbershop chatter, but I repeat, they are already barely understandable for those who still have some ideas from Tarantino, who for at least three films has been in a rut, right? By the way, did anyone notice a bit of Russ Meyer in this film?

And where would the beautiful cover be?

I quote Ilpazzo, without all those f*** yous ;-) P.S.: there is violence here, but the problem is that it is self-serving, a trivial story poorly directed and worse acted.

Anyway, listen to the CD and feel the level of musical evolution (not just technical, which is at its peak). If they are too technical, they are labeled as "cold, soulless"; if they are melodic, they say they have deteriorated and are no longer the Dream Theater of the past. This CD encompasses technique and melody. The real problem is that you are too limited to understand this CD. Dream Theater are an oasis in the desert, a gem amidst the musical crap that surrounds us.

If you are foolish for not appreciating those who make pornography of feelings, then you are right.
Giuseppe Tornatore Nuovo Cinema Paradiso
Voto:
Tornatore is a good director unfortunately enslaved to the Italian cinema system... A forgettable film.

@alessio: actually, it's the other way around, you're a bit young, huh?
@death: and what would true Metal be then?
The vote is for the charm...

I see many high votes (among others given by reliable users) justified by the fact that it’s fun, I won’t deny this, but in my opinion, it’s not enough to earn a movie 4 or even 5 stars. Here, honestly, I see an artist who confirms himself as a great dialogist (especially considering that all the conversations are based on nothing and he still manages to keep interest alive), but it’s the rest that is lacking. For heaven's sake, citing may also be a learned operation, and I want to believe that good Quentin is acting in good faith, meaning that he cites and does not copy (as someone might think), but we are now at the sixth film, if I’m not mistaken, and round and round we always end up with the same cliches.
I would like to share my thoughts on the debate regarding Italian cinema; certainly Tarantino isn’t entirely wrong, our cinema is going through a rough time (even though there are interesting directors like Crialese or Sorrentino), but this statement from a quite good director who, however, limits his cinematic culture to very circumscribed genres is a bit of a stretch. If it had been a Lynch, a Coppola, a Malick, or a Scorsese, it would have been more understandable, but from him (at least at this moment), much less.
