Mmm, honestly, when it comes to comics, I don't have a particular evolution: I've always read everything (even The Smurfs...). Of course, I have very specific tastes that lead me to evaluate, for example, "Watchmen" as less important than most people think (and I mention this example just because it’s well-known, it’s not that I dislike it, okay!), just as I find that much of the classic American superhero stuff has been overrated (take "Superman," for example: although perhaps, due to my age, I miss some of the context) while I adore others more marginal like "Silver Surfer." I don't make rankings, but for instance, I wouldn't hesitate to mention Italian examples such as Sclavi (and classic DD artists like Roi, Stano, and Villa), Silver, Bonvi, and Enoch among my favorites, just as I would never give up Goscinny and Uderzo... All those who have been important throughout my life have never been forgotten and I certainly don't feel ashamed to bring out some old Disney comics from time to time (I was subscribed to "Topolino" for ages, back when it was still Mondadori; does anyone remember Gaudenzio Capelli?). As for adaptations, I think the best (in terms of fidelity) is "300," but the one that impacted me the most (even though it is extremely "unfaithful") is "V for Vendetta."

She is undoubtedly talented, there's no denying that, the problem is the (fake) image built around her and the fact that her repertoire is painfully predictable, in another review I wrote that if I want to listen to certain things I just dust off the classics. Today is no different.

In the meantime, Psycho has also arrived! The word masterpiece changes its meaning depending on who says it and the context. I don't think I used it in the review, but I definitely give it a 5 because it's undoubtedly a work that has made history and, over the years (in my opinion), has not lost its appeal... in addition to having the important sociological connotations that I mention in the writing. Then, of course, there are things that are objectively masterpieces (like "Maus") for various reasons and others that depend more on personal taste: certainly, for example, if you are particularly attached to the world of Manga, it’s hard for this to excite you too much...

@Ghemi: Honestly, I had overlooked this second meaning, okay I won't use the term anymore! @Dream: yes, it’s one of the most obvious differences, thanks for stopping by!

In the meantime, I thank you all sincerely for the comments, and now in order (to those who ask me questions): @Eletto: I agree with the dark aesthetic represented differently in comics. Regarding the Emo issue (which you don't mention but I take it you're referring to), I don't believe that "The Crow" (film) and "Nightmare before Christmas" are the main culprits (I also mention this in the review, as in my opinion, there's been some confusion, at least around the comic, that has soon settled) but rather the big Media. The fact that these two films are often perceived as examples, in my opinion, is a different matter. @Ghemi: I think you might have voted incorrectly then ;-) Anyway, no, I didn’t know about the reprint (otherwise I would have mentioned it in the review), thank you for the tip! @Wolf: I think so too. We could ask the wonderful Webmasters for clarification. However, what do you mean by "series"? Like the entire collection of "Dylan Dog" (for example) or something self-contained? (this is my third comic review, and all three have been on things published in multiple issues). Because I think in the first case, it makes more sense to review the single issue (like "DD" issue 66, just to throw something random out there). @S4: I think that when talking about this comic, it was necessary to make distinctions by referencing the film because, at least in Italy, the fame of the first depends almost exclusively on the second, so I wanted to highlight that there are (and I think you'll agree) obvious differences. Anyway, I think this discussion doesn't take up much space in the overall review ;-). On the topic of influences, I also write in the review that in the end, people aren't that stupid... :-D
