And sorry for the spam, but reading certain comments around this site lately, it seems right to recommend this song since we are talking about Ustmamò.

Still and always crowds of new slaves and demigods/
the fortune turns/
and neither the before nor the after remains/
a splendid day/
a sordid day/
what is your formula?/
one day white, one day black, one day rich, one day poor, wretched, unfortunate/
one day yellow, one day red, one day purple, one day poor, wretched, unfortunate/
test your formula/
what a beautiful thing, what a joyful wonder/
we have not been touched by war or misery/
here you can choose the sweet and the delectable and speculate for hours on market crises/
thank goodness it's not up to us/
to live selling lighters, washing windshields, and then going back home/
in three hundred inside a stinking factory/
that's life, fortune can change badly/
one day a madman wakes up thinking/
that there exists a "better race" than ours/
one day a priest wakes up proclaiming/
my religion is the right one, not yours/
little forgetful man who goes crazy thinking of all this/
it is you who chooses whether to become/
a supporter of the squad, a recruited militant/
clergyman, dentist, usurer, lawyer/
try to imagine yourself as Albanian, Pakistani/
Serb, Croat, Sicilian, Indian, Sudanese, Moroccan/
then rather become/
a tenant retired from the lower floor/
a maimed taxi driver, a limping florist/
poor black, sick, wretched/
become the excluded, the handicapped child/
the HIV-positive, the scapegoat/
victim, Jewish, discarded/
what a beautiful thing, what a joyful wonder/
we have not been touched by war or misery/
here you can choose the sweet and the delectable/
and speculate for hours on market crises/
thank goodness it's not up to us/
to live selling lighters, washing windshields, and then going back home/
in three hundred inside a stinking factory/
that's life, fortune can change badly/
the fortune turns/
and neither the before nor the after remains/
still and always crowds/
of new slaves and demigods

The first two albums are excellent examples of local "craft" rock, while the third and fourth, although leaning towards pop sounds and more elaborate productions, are still quite good: I recommend all four. The fifth is forgettable.

You mention three authors (Mann, Eco, and Celan: the latter too often underrated like the entire Group 47) who are very dear to me. Thank you for stopping by!

No problem for the bad joke ;-) Also because, among other things, I agree that Amos has done a lot better. As for this album, I was disappointed because when it came out (in April of last year if I'm not mistaken), it was presented to me as a "new revelation" in female songwriting and instead I found myself with an album that was too derivative (the already mentioned Amos, but also early Jewel and especially MacLachlan in my view) and without any song that stood out from the others: a bit flat, in short. I listened to it 4-5 times and it never really "got to me." Then I must say that during that period I was "distracted" by "Third" by Portishead, so maybe I put it aside too soon. I’ll try to listen to it again.

Great film, great direction, great performers. It only falters with a screenplay that's a bit "over the top" when it comes to outlining the protagonists and their "ethical" profile. 5 just the same to raise the ungracious average and 5 to you too.

I'm late. Great review for a good Pop-Dance record that may not be the height of originality but is highly classy. If only there were more like it... She is an icon of endless elegance: an extra point for both the review and the album just because I feel like it.
