I confirm: Cue The Strings is also beautiful, almost a summation of their style, a bit like Mogwai Fear Satan is for Mogwai, which has nothing to do with it but I felt like saying it. Kisses

Emotions? Did I talk about emotions? I don't think so, and if I did, it slipped out, and I meant something else! No no, away with emotions. I don't care about emotions in music, not at all. Sensations (in the sense of "impressions"), yes, that's true: but not emotions. It's quite different, you know. Of course, some songs may evoke emotions in me, but for my own reasons, just as others can evoke them in you, and so on; but that's a discussion related to each person's history, and it has nothing to do with artistic validity. If a piece of music elicits emotions in a lot of people, it’s highly likely that it’s crap music.

Technique is important. Inspiration is important. Everything is necessary. Nothing is enough. (Cicciolina said it once, too)

But is it better to be the wife of a player who is about to be relegated to Serie B or of a player who is already in Serie B?

I laughed so much at the Proraso that in my amusement I was about to buy a record by Exaggerated Laceration In Your Filthy Guts.

I completely agree on Spinning Plates; I've gone through the same "journey." As for the rest, well, I see your point, and at this stage, it really comes down to a matter of taste :) I feel a lot of inspiration not only in the melodies but also in the sounds and rhythms (The Eraser, what a limping and surreal pace it has??? And that "vaporous" sound of the synthetic plate?). I sense inspiration, perhaps a bit of curiosity (you're right - in the sense of little novelty...), but a great and astonishing compositional maturity, more than in Kid A and Amnesiac (...and here comes the novelty: after several listens, I thought it could be defined as a B-Side album of HTTT, but after many more listens, I've changed my mind). But in all this, I want to remind you that Zidane's mom is a whore.

I was expecting it! Thank you for the story, and lucky you. Now I'm waiting for the ECM edition...

linusvanpelt has hit the nail on the head. A crystal-clear talent for writing and composition. It's an album that blends Intelligence & Sensations with almost incredible elegance. The discussion of "how much Radiohead is in this album" and "how much Thom is in Radiohead" is legitimate but takes a backseat: what stands out is the unique stylistic fingerprint of this man. He simultaneously conveys the artificiality and the vibrant sincerity of his sounds. Listen closely to the sounds. And remember that above all, there are always beautiful and original melodies. I can hardly recall such a pairing, perhaps something from Fog, although with the necessary differences. This is music of contrasts, artificiality & sincerity of sounds on a formal level; paranoid intimacy & universal gloom on a content level; cerebral & enjoyable on a listening level. Beautiful, beautiful.

I subscribe to Wanderer, with the not-so-subtle difference that in my case the risk has materialized: I love the 5 and I don't know this one!
