I don't understand. First you say "great artist => innovative," then you mention some names, you call them great artists but say they didn’t invent anything. So, are they innovative or not? Or: what do you mean by "innovative in their own way"? Maybe you mean, I don't know, particularly lyrical, particularly technical, particularly moving, particularly angry, particularly inspired, particularly surreal, all things that I also appreciate and that can be enough to make someone a great artist. But that doesn’t mean being innovative. MM is not innovative. In my opinion, it’s not even all the rest, but that’s a matter of taste.
