Beautifully written, Hal: more than just a simple review. Regarding Mozart, I agree with JoP: immense but a notch below the other greats. A while back, I was concluding with a great-uncle (or was it a great-cousin?) that - despite his brilliant inspiration - good old Wolfgang Amadeus was more "a slave to harmonies and melodies" than their master; he followed them rather than shaping them like Beethoven did. Probably idle chatter. Anyway, dear Hal, you have chosen my favorite work of his alongside a couple of piano concertos.
