I agree with making value judgments, but mine (and Hal's, I assume) do not match yours, George, so it is evident that these are debatable judgments; however, to define the music of the twentieth century as "noise" is indeed a hasty generalization, and that is something that can be commonly shared. I suspect that your "gut" evaluation has prevented you from properly listening to some truly significant works. Try Schnittke's Piano Quintet or Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major. As for me, I like Meier's project.
