Steve Hackett Wild Orchids
Voto:
I criticized an album and you keep making personal insults. This is the difference between me and you.

x floydman: are you related to Pink Floyd that you take it personally?
x JimMorrison: 66 is my year of birth, and since you’re being pretentious, I’ll tell you that I have nearly thirty years of musical culture, not sure if you can claim the same.
About Division Bell: I confirm everything, but this is Steve Hackett, so the comments should focus on this album...
x Roby86: try listening to the opening notes of "A trick of the tail" (the song), and then listen to the introduction of "A girl called Linda", then let me know… anyway, it’s a descriptive detail, the song is really beautiful.
Francesco De Gregori Bufalo Bill
Voto:
So Donjunio, for you centuries of instrumental classical music have been mannerist exercises?

X Poletti: instead, I’m surprised by the excessive importance that many on Debaser give to lyrics...music always matters more than lyrics; otherwise, we would be talking about poetry and not songs. I also remind you that right after the release of "Bufalo Bill," De Gregori was harshly criticized for being too "hermetic" in his lyrics...which I believe was justified.

To each their own... for me it's one of the worst; mostly brainy and bland songs. Only two classics stand out: "Bufalo Bill" and "Santa Lucia"; a decent "L'uccisione di babbo natale." There is much better in his discography, in my humble opinion.
Duran Duran Pop Trash
Voto:
I also think that "Rio" by Duran Duran was a good album. We hated them in the '80s, especially because of the absurd hysteria that girls at the time had towards them, but as musicians they were not bad at all.
A curiosity: why does everyone say "rece" instead of recensione? Is it so tiring to write in Italian?

Anyone who could write a song like "Making Plans for Nigel" has my respect.
Gentle Giant Interview
Voto:
Nice review. I'm not familiar with Gentle Giant, but I see a bit of myself in your writing style. Well done.
Nick Drake Bryter Layter

Fusillo, there’s no point in stubbornness (even on my part!) after all, what matters is health…

The reviewer sometimes uses metaphors... "instruments played almost not to disturb the listener too much" ultimately indicates the general tone of what is heard on the album. Regarding the objectivity of Drake's vocal fragility, well, I don't see how one could argue the opposite; in some tracks (just look at "One of these things first") he seems almost out of breath. Then again, it can be liked or not liked, of course...
