Maria Antonietta Live @ Camillo, Salò (BS) 05.07.12

I've heard a few tracks here and there, never live, never acoustic... for now, it really sucks for me.
Electric Wizard Black Masses

Well, I didn’t find this album at all easy to assimilate; I downloaded it at 320 quality and it seemed like the speakers were frying, even lowering the volumes didn’t change anything, not even in headphones. Then I bought it, and I realized that it was the sounds themselves that were so rotten and poorly done (on purpose, but poorly done). As for the "song structure," I would tread carefully; there is catchiness, that’s true. But that’s a feature that stands out more on Witchcult Today than on this one, so nothing new. I liked it halfway: here, for the first time, some passages seem redundant to me, but in a boring way. In any case, they are a blast live.
Darren Aronofsky Black Swan (Il cigno nero)
Voto:
I found this movie incredibly annoying. Super cheesy, irritating, pompous, excessive. It's a film that aims to impress and nothing more, indeed, without really conveying anything. I have actually never seen P Greco. Requiem for a Dream is enjoyable despite sharing the same flaw as this one regarding the extreme hallucinated scenes, but there it all could make sense. The Wrestler, on the other hand, I really liked, but it also has a story that easily touches certain chords.
Big Black Atomizer

With Big Black, I've tried in every way, but I just don't like them. I must be one of the few who, among Albini's bands, ultimately prefers Shellac.
Afterhours Padania
Voto:
Listened to out of pure curiosity and nothing, it sucks. Metamorfosi, if it were a joke about Area, it would be fine... but it isn’t, absolutely ridiculous. Padania is an acoustic guitar-and-vocals ballad like the After have plenty of, too bad it’s inferior to all the other songs of this type that Agnelli has done before and is also further uglified by this little guitar part halfway through. Fosforo e blu reminded me horrendously of any Fugazi song sung by Picciotto. The only one I don’t mind is Costruire per distruggere.
Pontiak Echo Ono

Great record this, maybe my favorite from them... even if I miss Comecrudos. Bought it on vinyl at the Spazio 211 concert, they really rocked.
Stefano Sollima ACAB - All Cops Are Bastards
Voto:
Well, honestly, I'm expecting something much worse. It's definitely not a film that changes your perspective (assuming that was the intent), but in the end, somehow, something sticks. The main flaw is that it's a bit too simplistic, despite everything. I mean, these riot police are like this because they have their issues, blah blah. Maybe doing it differently was too complicated, but I would have liked a bit more depth for the key characters. You could have mentioned Joy Division in the soundtrack; they literally made me jump out of my chair in front of the PC, I really didn't expect them at all.
Uochi Toki Idioti
Voto:
@ jdv666: I hardly know Clouddead at all, but Dalek are definitely rap... I mean, okay for Uochi Toki, but Dalek are absolutely rap, try removing all the effects and just leave the beat, listen to what remains. As for the album, I don’t find it a failure at all; I definitely like it less than Libro Audio, but the direction they’ve taken seems certain and well-defined, even if it’s more challenging. The thing I don’t like is that there are parts that are really interpreted, not just spoken like before. I don’t know, the impression is that they may have pushed things too far, but intentionally (some tracks are really twisted and verbose to the point of exasperation, too much for it to be an unintended effect).
The Cure Pornography
Voto:
"The singer lets out sudden screams of hate as if he were crying." Are they The Cure or Silencer? The description of the songs, well, it's life sentence material. "Ideal pearls for getting depressed," "unprecedented sadness," it sounds like a joke, I'm not kidding. Incredible album.
Silencer Death - Pierce Me
Voto:
I'm going to embarrass myself a lot, but I really like this album a ton.
