Nina Simone Little Girl Blue
Voto:
Dear Amalteo, I share the enthusiasm for this great, warm, and unique voice. Among Nina's interpretations, I absolutely adore her version of the classic by CCR, I Put A Spell On You, which is truly a jazz masterpiece... however, regarding the song you reference in your review, I must disagree. It is Janis Joplin who delivers the most successful version, an absolute masterpiece of vocal and emotional performance... she is my little girl blue :-)

>>>alternative-indie-acid-folk -prog-industrial music<<<... could it be a quote from Battiato??? And then: do you think voiceface that the music a person makes must necessarily be tied to the territory they live in? If many Italian bands are interested in sounds from other countries and create music in Italian by mixing genres, shouldn’t this also be considered an undeniable phenomenon? Perhaps you’re saying that this doesn’t happen? Given that it does happen (by the way, in greater quantities than so-called Italian light music), maybe it’s time to acknowledge that there are multiple genres and different identities even within the same country... I mean: if in America Bob Dylan and Madonna coexist, can you tell me what the American genre is? If in France there are Noir Désir and Air, can you tell me what the French genre is? If in Italy we have Pausini and Afterhours, can you tell me what the Italian genre is?

oh yes now I've noticed... sorry... (anyway, keep using this phrase instead of insults, it seems polite, painless, and even entertaining)

Was DaveJonGilmour referring to me? I gave that record to my dad for Christmas, he played it for me dozens of times... I know the songs by heart... and I don't like them!

That said, a note on what you write about Italian productions: I don't see why one should shudder at the idea of an Italian album; there are definitely original and noteworthy bands and musicians in Italy.

It doesn't seem to me that people have insulted you too much (you should see what they usually write about me)... as you say, the review is debatable in its content, so we need to be able to accept criticism from those who don't think the same way... the fact that one can criticize on this site is very important, and when it is done in a civil manner, as happened on this page, there is nothing wrong with it... for the record: there was at most one idiot towards you, and you thought it was a good idea to call everyone who commented 'little ones'... well, since I felt slightly offended, I confirm what I think of the album: in my opinion, it is musically terrible and has decidedly unoriginal lyrics (for the record, I am a fan of the old Celentano). The review is well written, true (you say so yourself, after all), but personally I find the introduction a bit self-serving: it would be nice if the only people reading what we write were those who agree with our thoughts, but that's not the case, and we have to accept it!

The wise and shrewd Tiziana that you are... even Bush must have said phrases like that... deathinaugust convincing reply, I beg your pardon :-)

@ deathinaugust: you're right about the commercial nature of pink (sorry p!nk), but don't you think it's more appropriate to listen to an album and then judge it, avoiding gossip and non-musical reasons? @ dave: great review, even though the album isn't the best pop of the year... it's a nice and enjoyable record, sung with a lot of grit and unfortunately not always with the most accurate arrangements. I believe the biggest flaw of the work is the excessive variety, which in the long run detracts from a precise identity. "dr mister president" is really goosebump-inducing though... well done p!nk! @ sausalito: i am gay and I sing in a hard-rock band...
Metallica St. Anger

The strength of Metallica has always been their ability to build walls of perfectly rhythmic guitars without ever losing sight of melody... this album takes a different direction, Metallica has decided that from now on they will just make a big mess with no head or tail... congratulations!

Mogol has really lost it! And let's not even talk about Celentano... arrangements old, old, old, and definitely in questionable taste!
