For me, it's a wonderful album, a true masterpiece by Springsteen, a mature record, vibrant both in content and in music. On the first front, it's very relevant because it courageously speaks to us about another America, that of disillusionment, the one that often seems non-existent—yet it is; on the second, I don't quite agree with the somewhat negative connotation of "a bit standard country." I believe the expressive level of this album, even musically, is incredible. Springsteen's voice blends beautifully with these atmospheres. Perhaps it could only have been played this way, given the themes. The review is simply splendid. Highly recommended. Thank you.

"Echoes" and "One of these days" are worth the record; the rest leaves a bit to be desired. In particular, Saint Tropez, which is for me a bad and bland little song. A curiosity regarding this song: does anyone know anything about the alleged mention of "rita pavone"? According to some, the lyrics actually reference rita pavone, while others say the incriminating line goes "later by phone." What do you think?

A quick comment ... a superfluous album that sparked a nice discussion, but I really don't know what to say about it; these competitions between decades always put me a bit in difficulty. I really don't know what parameters or criteria I should use to say that the '90s are better than the '70s or vice versa. Of course, we are a bit demanding, but sometimes I don't mind :) Bye

"into the night, into the night" what memories. I haven't listened to this album in ages. A little while ago I was wondering "what happened to Joe Jackson?", so I went to check his official website (http://www.joejackson.com/) and I saw the photo and realized how much time has passed. By the way, I read on the site about a live album he released this year. I wonder what it's like.
