No, I completely disagree about the voice. Of course, the years go by, and Wilson hasn't exactly had an easy time of it, but for me, his voice is still very beautiful. The fact that this record cannot be the one from 38 years ago is, I would say, ... obvious. That it could have been better than what was supposed to be released, on the other hand, is not provable.

An incredible story this of Brian Wilson. Just last night I watched the DVD of the Smile launch concert held in London, a splendid concert, designed with a maniacal attention to detail, filled with terror and suffering. An insane number of sounds. Wilson's voice, despite everything, is still very beautiful, and he has an amazing range. His musical visions combined with this naive pantheistic idea of the universe are fascinating. His illness is visible in the tremor of his hands as well as in his subdued expression. The package also contains another DVD with a documentary film that tells the story of Smile, the Beach Boys, and Wilson. It’s striking to see his joy for having completed this endless journey. Everything you've described is in there, plus many other things. One thing I would add, though: if Wilson has reached Ithaca, much is owed to his wife Melinda. The only thing I didn’t understand from the review is why you call Pet Sounds a half-failure. Bye.

I also missed it; there are so many Zion, and many get overlooked... and I check out Home... it seems interesting, Zion, if I have time and money. I'll add it to my wishlist but in the middle of the rankings for now. Bye :)

A fantastic performer, the vote goes to her because I don't specifically know this album. One curiosity: does anyone know if the story is true that she is terrified of flying?
