It doesn't really seem like my kind of thing (if such a thing even exists), but the trust in Socrates is as strong as others have already pointed out.

You spoke to me with the tone of a disappointed lover, and now I discover that instead you were a distracted lover ;) for now I've only listened to a couple of songs without diving too deep, and it hasn't disappointed me, but we'll see in the coming weeks. A nod to symbad's comment, which I share, except for the part related to comics. Beware of generalizations. There are many comics that leave a lot in your mind, more than you think. Much of it is illustrated literature. Even Donald Duck comics, if you think of the great, no, the tremendous Carl Barks. To cultivate the garden of the intellect, they have their place too. Sorry for the digression, goodbye :)

I completely disagree, El Guevo. If there's an album that strays from the sounds you highlight, it's this one, as Vinicio employs dozens of instruments and musicians of all kinds in an incredible sonic blend. Each song tells its own story. This is a uniqueness that is not easy at all and highly sought after. Keep in mind that the songs were recorded in absurd places at different times and without a preconceived idea, but one that took shape during the recording process. The fusions in this case are crazy, from China (the Chinese violin erhu) to Sardinia (the cantu a tenore and the bells of Tonara). Not to mention the lyrics, which on this occasion are like never before a melting pot where the Mediterranean simmers with its ancient myths, with God invoked for protection in every corner of the earth, from the sea to the depths of caves (like ispinigoli). The suggestions are endless. This is an album that smells of dust from the road, of dreams, of memories. It’s a beautifully wild journey, much like its author. A journey that should be taken slowly, without haste, trying to go beyond appearances and getting into its poetry and musical exploration. You might still not like it, but not for the reasons you mention.

I never found it. I had read mixed opinions about this album, but I still wanted to hear it because I really liked their previous works, especially "You Forgot It In People" (I can't remember the title of the other one)... the review renews my curiosity, especially when you mention jaga jazzist. Anyway, it's incredible the vibrancy of the contemporary Canadian scene.

As you already know, I adore this album symbad, even if I didn't think it could be considered one of the most beautiful jazz records ever made, but I trust your judgment. However, after the impulse period, I felt like good old Michele got lost along the way; in fact, I didn't really like the records for Verve, especially the one with James Taylor, which was sentimental and monotonous, light-years away from the dynamics of this album. What do you think? One last thing, I know that Michele is now battling cancer. A few months ago, I read that he would undergo a stem cell transplant, but then I didn't read anything else. Do you know anything about this story? Bye.
