Vangelis L'Apocalypse Des Animaux

So: I know the album very well, as it was used (on the director's advice) for our school's theater performance last year. Honestly, no offense intended, I would never buy it for a number of reasons: 1) New Age is, in my opinion, one of the most controversial genres in the history of music, as it is a gigantic cauldron that tries to bring out the right potion at the right time (but it doesn't always succeed, and when it doesn't, the consequences can be quite bitter) 2) Vangelis has undoubtedly hit the right potion, but his way of capturing nature often confounds even the most sensitive ears and the most acclaimed experts. It undoubtedly takes much more than one listening to start feeling the beneficial influence emitted by the musician: still, I find that this type of music, however layered, complex and at the same time crystalline (as ilfantasticovegetale said, "touches the strings of the soul"), is a bit too introspective and, as such, a bit too private, a precious and fragile treasure that is opened before everyone's eyes. However, since it's not my genre and I've only listened to this CD, I could be mistaken. What do you think? P.S. Review from a passionate listener who still maintains some objectivity and, as such, deserves a five.

Very good Punisher, I just discovered it very recently (less than a week ago) and I must say that your review fully reflects the characteristics of the album. As always, after all.

So: black is definitely not my style. As you rightly pointed out, pumped-up rappers surrounded by semi-naked women have made me sick to my stomach. I also admit I'm not an expert at all. But this group has lately piqued my interest due to their remarkable prolificacy (correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they've released seven albums in twelve years, the last one just a few weeks ago) and for the atmospheres that are always refined despite their rawness. It's truly amazing how they manage to blend common rap with blues and jazz so effortlessly. Maybe, for Christmas, when I step into Ricordi, I'll change course and instead of heading to the shelf dedicated to alternative and metal, I'll aim for the nearby R'n'B section. I have to say, your review (besides being excellently written) has really intrigued me, let's see what can be done. Until next time. Requiem.

The review isn't bad, but in my opinion, it's a bit on the short side.

Are words really always necessary? Man was created free to act, speaking, and above all, thinking. I have no words.

Going by similitudes, I could definitely compare you to a colony of bacteria: exponentially growing. Quite sugary (even more than me, and that says a lot) the ending "debaseriani vi amo"...
Duncan James Can't Stop A River

After the great success achieved in Italy with the first single "Sooner Or Later"... what do you say? Nobody really cared. Anyway... in the year 1234, electronics was gradually disappearing to make way for the innovative musical technique that later brought so much success to the Renaissance author and composer (as well as poet and croupier) Den Harrow. A young man of humble origins, hailing from low Padania, raised on bread, beatings, and Borghezio, rebelled against this decaying music scene, bringing with his banjo a breath of orientalism that had decidedly waned with the end of the French Revolution. We are of course talking about Duncan James. His two hundred thirty-fourth album is now on sale at the best delicatessens: for 15 ¤ you can enjoy these memorable songs, with imposing metal riffs (the result of repeated listens to Al Bano and Romina Power), accompanied by a blood-red Florentine steak, one of those nice big ones.

P.S. But, guys, leave a few for me too... I was working on it as well... patience.

I had heard about the scandalous "Lemon Incest" and so I tried to get closer to this Charlotte Gainsbourg. I don't mind the album at all; her whispered voice is very evocative in my opinion (even though over time it causes side effects like sudden drowsiness). The only major flaw of this album is, as you wrote, the collaboration with Air, who do nothing but self-celebrate the whole time. It's also scandalous that every member who contributed to this album tries to elevate themselves one notch higher in refinement than their companion. Good music is fine, but too much is excessive. The review... is from a true expert, as you describe the melodies and rhythms very well, in addition to giving an overall exhaustive idea of 5:55. Very well done.
