You never stop discovering new masterpieces (or semi-masterpieces) by Neil Young. The review is also excellent.

"Toccata in F and Prelude VI" by the Baroque composer J.S. Bach... my old heart of a classical music lover is put to the test, but maybe it's better to take it lightly. A miserable review for an excellent record, perhaps a bit weighed down by the elephantine opening suite, but definitely captivating.

Sorry for the delay, but I’m not ā€œwritingā€ the review of this album: I wrote it back in August 2004. It’s just that it’s listed under "Emerson Lake & Palmer" (without a comma) and so you probably didn't see it. But JimMorrison has already clarified that, and in any case, there’s nothing wrong with writing another one: for some albums, there are even six!

Bruno DP clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. Also, I don't know any music webzine.

I don't vote for the review due to a clear conflict of interest, having written one myself about the same album. An album that I don't consider a 5-star masterpiece either, but still an excellent album, where the execution skill clearly prevails over compositional imagination, to the point that our three are sometimes forced to borrow themes from classical composers: "The barbarian" is by Bela Bartok and "Knife Edge" is by Janacek. Played like gods, though.

I associate myself with Socrates and I realize that, like Socrates in his time, Blackcrow is also roaming my territory more or less, and with his Joni Mitchell-inspired nickname, it couldn't be otherwise. This was also among my scheduled reviews, but no regrets: it’s excellent. Like the album, for me the highest point reached by the "Peter Gabriel-inspired muse," as someone calls it.

No problem, and I agree that he is one of the few politicians in whom a spark of intelligence shines, but it is also true that sometimes he seems to live in a more ideal than real Italy, and he tends to emphasize rather modest things like the anthem of Mameli a bit too much. But he has to do it: he gets paid for that. Maybe in a review, one can also do without patriotism; however, perhaps I was a bit too harsh looking for flaws in a great review, so now I’ll give it a nice 5 to make up for it.
Claudio Baglioni Tutti qui

Punisher, now this is a proper demolition job... unlike that suffocating outburst against poor Enya (saying "I can't stand her, so I give her a 1" doesn’t mean anything). This one instead feels like it comes from the heart, that Baglioni, especially the restored version from modern days, you just can't stand it... and how can I blame you?

The best live performance by an Italian band? It's likely, alongside those of PFM with De André. A beautifully detailed review just the way I like it, in defiance of those who glorify (and reward) telegrams. However, that "keeping the name Italy high in the world" stuck in my throat a bit: it sounds like Ciampi.

Great review for a great album, which, however, due to some excessive length and a bit of poetic exaggeration, I consider a step below "Darwin" and especially "Io sono nato libero," two undeniable masterpieces. A classic case of 4.5.
