Look, I have a whore's ear because I listen to everything. I like all music. My personal ranking is Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Radiohead, and from Italy, De André, Battisti, and Battiato. I like these a lot, maybe even more than Coldplay. Sure, they don't make rock but excellent pop with beautiful melodies. I listen to everything; I have 350 CDs and 200 vinyl records of various genres. I also listen to classical music, and above all, I never judge an album out of prejudice; I try to listen to it first if I can.

Anyway, I find the album boring; I've already taken it out of the car. But of The Verve, I only love Urban Hymns; Richard does better solo for now.

I agree with misterno, most of those who belittle Claudio do not know his evolution and his continuous musical search. Along with "Oltre" and "Viaggiatore," this is my favorite; it contains genuine gems like "Le vie dei colori," "Reginella," and "Fammi andar via." I've seen him in concert 10 times. I've also seen Genesis, U2, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, and I adore all the Beatles, but I love Battisti, De André, Battiato, and Claudio as well. Am I not normal??? I don’t limit myself; I like ALL music, even Italian. I think there are many people like me.

Repetita juvant, the album is a masterpiece of Italian pop music, whether you like it or not, and then an artist who has topped the charts for 30 years can't be a musical idiot. I love Ashcroft as a solo artist, but I honestly find the album a bit boring. There are 4 good songs, but it doesn’t seem like a masterpiece to me. On the other hand, only Urban Hymns is a masterpiece; the first one is a nice album, and I don’t know Northern Soul. I hope they do better next time.
