@ squall I believe that when you don't know things, it's better to keep quiet :-) ( or I'm referring to myself, you know!) As for the movie, if you haven't seen it, I recommend you watch it and then let me know what you think ( oh, by the way, there's an exceptional Vittorio Gassman) ... I'm not the type for polemics either; sometimes I can't manage to read them if they're too long, maybe it's age, I guess :-)

I, not being a director, can only share my impressions. The cinematography, I would say, being essentially a story of life, doesn’t feature breathtaking landscapes; however, there are beautiful scenes, and the scene of Sean Nokes' killing is remarkable. I didn't find it slow at all; in fact, it's divided very well into two chapters essentially, and it seems that Barry Levinson has directed a few films... Regarding the films on TV, apart from Boldi's movies which I can't even find on Sky, usually you can tell if a film is crap or not...
