I saw it a few years ago! In my opinion, it’s an unpretentious film. I think it’s clear from the start that, at worst, it’s "orientalism for dummies," as the good psycho puts it. But this can only happen if you have a certain type of expectation. To me, it’s immediately evident that a gangsta-samurai CANNOT be something so serious. While watching it, I instinctively thought of Wu-Tang Clan and the like. That’s why I have a lasting memory of a very enjoyable film.

As written in itself, it would be a 3.5. Too "heavy," and as has happened in the past, some sentences are "stuck" together poorly. In my opinion, as a review, it cannot be rated. Only halfway through the review do you start talking about the film, but you really say too little. This is a review site. If one wants to express ONLY (and I emphasize that) their impressions and/or opinions about the content and/or meaning of the film, they can create a blog or discuss it in the comments. I haven't seen the film, and for now, I'm not interested, but only because I CANNOT be interested, since I learned about the existence of this work only through your non-review.

4.5! "Americanness" can only be annoying if one stops to wait for an aesthetic of violence from old Tarantino. An aesthetic that would actually be limiting if you consider that, despite being Tarantino, he is (re)making a western and doing so in the 2000s. As for the exaggeration of the massacres, doesn't anyone remember Peckinpah?! And regarding the "easy" parts that may appeal, so to speak, to the common folk, I think they help create a spaghetti-western dimension. A dimension that often willingly lets go of "seriousness." But of course, non-seriousness cannot and should not be executed like in the '70s. Obviously, I have only talked about the parts that initially didn't seem "good" or easily misunderstood in a negative sense. After all, I don't even speak! I can only bow down and enjoy like a madman all the sons of bitches getting blown away and the director's skill.
