Maybe you are right, philosopher, for me it has definitely been the most revolutionary.

It's nice, Alex, and it seems to be in the mid-price range as well. At this point, the purchase is a must.

They return to freedom, do you really think that the mentality of Salento (and in general that of the south) is free? Here, there's an anti-life mentality; by 26, you’re finished. A girl is already like an old woman; if you're not super engaged or married, you’re labeled a whore. If you don’t call your boyfriend 57 times a day, it means you don’t care about him. If you want to go out with a guy, you have to be careful not to tell your friends, otherwise, you’re a slut. What is this! What is…this is the non-life, prejudice, crude and bigoted moralism, that’s what it is.
You talk about culture and criticize the north, but the biggest problem is that the people of Salento, unlike what's happening in other cities in the south, try to imitate the north. Respect for the rules, the city full of traffic wardens, etcetera, etcetera. They detest the Neapolitans labeling them as cheaters, only to do the same. The important thing is not to let it be known, to show a good facade, good customs, to be recognized as "a good person"; that’s what matters. There’s a lot of falseness, hypocrisy. And I don’t think this is a good thing. The people of Salento have been very good at advertising their tradition, their roots, spending their best cards precisely up north. Does the story of the T-Shirts SALENTO 12 mean anything to you? Does the clearance sale of pizzica with the "PIZZICA TOUR 2005" that filled Bologna ring a bell? So be careful before throwing around judgments and clichés because every phenomenon needs to be analyzed in depth.

Dear Fabbiu, things are not quite as you say. I don’t think Salentini have a bad reputation up north; on the contrary, Salento is often seen as a heavenly destination to be reached at all costs during summer vacations. It’s considered “the Jamaica” of the south, all about fun, joy, brotherhood, communion. Well, the Sud Sound System have fueled this myth that is based on hearsay. Only those who have lived the reality of Salentini firsthand and for a long time can understand how things really are. Salentini are indeed afflicted by provincialism. Any local who has a hint of success is immediately praised as a great talent, and I mean in every field, from culture to sports. Just look at what the Negramaro are up to, acclaimed by everyone as if they were the Rolling Stones, when they should be met with potatoes and tomatoes. The same goes for the Sud, who, although musically distant from the Negramaro, have played a fundamental role in promoting this image of Salento as a “land of freedom.” But what? A land of freedom? In my opinion, the Salentino spirit is the exact opposite. Salentini are closed off; they NEVER let anyone get too close unless they are from their region. They are suspicious, mistrustful, and in some ways, far more racist than many people from the north. Let’s stop with these clichés. I lived a year up north, and I can tell you that if you show you are a decent person, no one bothers you, and everyone respects you.

The only flaw is that they are not easily available records. But understand me, I am a crazy person :-)

Listen to me, start with electronics, since you like Depeche. If you're looking for something truly beautiful and original, check out these 2 reviews: Fad Gadget "Under The Flag" and then Wolfgang Press "Bird Wood Cage." Both are beautiful, especially the second one.

Be careful, Alex, I told you. Warp could also disappoint you. Read between the lines of my review. If you don’t like the references, don’t buy it. Come on, tell the truth, you’re letting yourself be enchanted by the allure of exclusivity. Semi-unknown group, import Japan... :-)

You can find Alex Warp on Amazon.com or Amazon UK. There's no need to have the Japanese characters translated for you. This, at 10 euros, you have to get. As for the Depeche, of course you need to listen to them. I recommend starting with "Some Great Reward," a beautiful album, one of their early works. The Raven (il corvaccio) is a great album. But take it slow, take your time. The new wave is very vast, move with caution. In my opinion, it can be roughly divided into 3 well-identifiable branches. The pure punk-rock, even with dark tinges, the electronic, and the funk-reggae-no wave-dance. The latter is an extraordinary melting pot of surprises, insights, and creativity. You decide where to start :-)
