It's beautiful how cooking and music intertwine. I agree, "real" cooking is pure art, like all things in life, when lived with a particular approach. I won't comment on the record because I don't know it, unfortunately.

Mine was a provocation. It's obvious that the people commenting on a Steve Vai review are unlikely to listen to This Heat. However, I stand by my theory about this guitar hero. I've never liked heroes.

I don't know this album, but I know Vai through a roommate of mine who tormented me years ago... I can't stand him. In home, there's still the self-titled album by This Heat... read the review and get it. Forget about this fanatic.

"Le passanti", regardless of whether it is a cover, remains a "monumental" song that alone is worth buying the album. However, it is a piece not for everyone, but only for strong souls. It has an unsettling realism, bitter but tremendously human. I remember the first time I heard it, I was at a friend's house. I was struck by it. I thought, "Wow, he read me inside out; he thinks exactly like I do." The beauty of De Andrè is that he describes stories of the people that are however relatable to few. Because it is not easy to shed one’s own deceptions, one’s praiseworthy failures. De Andrè strips you bare, like all great thinkers, with his realism that for many crosses into cynicism. But his poetics are simply tremendously "human." One should not be afraid of their own nature; yielding to it is the first step toward recognizing one's authenticity. Nothing happens by chance. De Andrè helps the sensitive soul to search for the why with their own strength.

I agree. I really don't like this album. This comes from someone who loves De Gregori.
