Dream Theater Octavarium

I’ll start by saying that I don’t understand what sense this seventh (!) review of this album makes. But how is it possible to give a score of 5 to an album that borrows from here and there pieces already done by Dream along with a radio single? If it weren't for their technical skill and the delicacy of LaBrie's voice, this album wouldn't get very far. However, their skill is considerable.

This review doesn't quite reflect my tastes.

I'm not a big fan of Van Halen, so I'll stay away from them.

I like it quite a lot. A pearl.

I miss this album, but the single that came out from it didn't impress me much. Unfortunately, some idiot like birbabirba doesn't understand a thing and has to mock a band that's already washed up, but for what they did in the '70s, they should only be adored. Shut up.

They didn't know how to play. They didn't know how to sing. They were three fools. Their approach was to disrupt the rules. They did it. Amen.

I really liked it. But it was the transition from Queen when I was eight to Guns, Iron Maiden, and Metallica... Let’s be objective.

let's say that in a genre like this I think there's no reason to complain if they remain true to themselves. On the contrary. After all, monotony reigns supreme in this genre. Anyway, they are one of those few bands that drive me crazy. It's worth noting that despite the lineup change, the music sounds just like before, perhaps even better. Of course, we miss a gem like my last serenade, but that's how it is...

In my opinion, they are writing from an asylum.
