THE REVIEW

Do you remember Extreme?

For fans of the genre (Hard-Rock with Blues influences), the answer is obvious... A reason to buy this album? Those who own it, have in their reliable CD player a collection of truly skilled artists' songs (see the imaginative guitarist Nuno Bettencourt) and a truly mature sound (something that was not achieved in previous albums). It begins with the first track, Warheads, with an impactful riff and a nice Hard Rock rhythm that engages the listener... besides the aforementioned guitarist for his skill and guitar sound, it's worth noting Gary Cherone's powerful and gritty voice, which perfectly embodies an energetic band like them.

The following tracks continue with a less sustained rhythm than the first, but still well-crafted, imaginative, and creative, at times a bit "light" (like Track 7 "Tragic Comic", a fun ballad: see the lyrics!), but always interesting and increasingly appreciated with each listen... what can I say? Perhaps not everyone will agree, but it cannot be denied that unfortunately, there are very few bands like them today... too bad they have been disbanded for years now... all we can do is listen to their old works, like this one!

Extreme

Extreme are an American hard rock band formed in Boston in 1985. The classic lineup features Gary Cherone (vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitar), Pat Badger (bass) and Paul Geary (drums). Blending hard rock, funk, and metal, they broke through with Extreme II: Pornograffitti and the worldwide hit More Than Words, followed by the ambitious III Sides to Every Story and the raw Waiting for the Punchline. After a mid‑90s split, they reunited and released Saudades De Rock in 2008.
