LA RECENSIONE

“The End Of The Heartache” is the third album by the English metalcore band, Killswitch Engage, in my opinion the best in the genre. The first three songs ("A Bid Farewell", "Take This Oath", "When Darkness Falls"), follow the same pattern, beginning very aggressively and then ending in a more melodic manner. The fourth track, "Rose Of Sharyn", if not perfect, is close to it; the riffs of guitarist Adam Dutkiewitz are very captivating and precise. The beginning of "Breathe Life" brings us back to the old Metallica, while the title track "The End Of The Heartache" evokes great emotions and is, in my opinion, the most fitting song on the CD... in "Declaration" you can't stay still, while "World Ablaze" offers numerous very fitting tempo changes. It closes with "Wasted Sacrifice" and "Hope Is"... which provide a dignified closure to the CD.

The album in question is a must-have, both for metalheads and for those inclined towards more rock sounds... it’s beautifully played; in some tracks you can’t stop jumping and it’s full of energy. Sure, perhaps a bit too similar to the previous "Alive Or Just Breathing" (which I consider the masterpiece of metalcore), but the quality is extraordinary. Moreover, the cover is also very interesting. A must-have.
