Renato Zero: Zerofobia
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Among Renato's best albums, but not the best. In fact, "Mi vendo" is one of those big classics that could be a bit overplayed, but aside from that, there are excellent tracks, with "Vivo" and "Il cielo" standing out (the latter is also a classic, but it remains a beautiful song). 4.5

    "Vivo" and "Il cielo" splendid!
Renato Zero: Trapezio
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
The most beautiful album by Renatone (it's a close call with "Invenzioni"), there isn't a single mediocre track. "Un uomo da bruciare," "Hanno arrestato Paperino," and "Il caos" are the best of the bunch.
Renato Zero: Artide Antartide
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Surely one of the best albums of Renatone (the best definitely among the double ones). Following this, his stage name will reflect the quality of his musical proposals.
Renato Zero: Via Tagliamento

Well.. what can I say? I'm sorry, but I don't even dare!
Renato Zero: Zerolandia
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Great album, yes, but from his golden era, this one (personally) convinces me the least. I prefer all the previous ones and all the subsequent ones up to and including "Artide/Antartide." 3.5 rounded up.

I share the vote; among all, I think it’s the album that best represents the character, which completely stands out from the rest thanks to songs like "Il triangolo," "Sesso o esse," and "Sbattiamoci." It will continue this trend only with "Baratto" and "Fermo posta" within "Erozero." After a singer-songwriter like the others, it only differed by the wardrobe that, alas, didn’t shock much anymore.
Renato Zero: L'imperfetto
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
After 14 years of pretty mediocre albums, Renatone finds the desire to get back up and gives us this excellent record. It doesn’t quite reach a full 5, but it's close. The next album will also have a handful of good songs, but after that, the gems will need to be sought out with a lantern...
Rino Gaetano: Mio fratello è figlio unico
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Undoubtedly Rino's most beautiful and inspired album, just above the next one. The title track is an absolute masterpiece.

Perhaps "Aida" is slightly superior, but this one is also stunning.
  • Martello
    11 may 20
I consider it below the last one, and I’m in, but here too the level of writing is extremely high.
Rino Gaetano: Resta vile maschio, dove vai?
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Maybe the only one a bit lackluster, but it still remains more than good. Average 3.5 that I round up to 4 out of fondness.

Besides, this album also contains one of his most beautiful songs, namely Io scriverò. It has the only flaw of having some tracks that are a bit underwhelming.
Roberto Vecchioni: El Bandolero Stanco
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
A step back from the extraordinary album of two years prior, but still beautiful and well crafted. Almost 4.5
Roberto Vecchioni: Samarcanda
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
One step below the extraordinary "Elisir", but in the end not by much. "L'ultimo spettacolo" among his top 5 works, an absolute masterpiece.

The cover by Crazy Horse isn't too bad either.

For me, his masterpiece is Calabuing, that said, this is an excellent album.

    For me, "Elisir".
Roberto Vecchioni: Montecristo
Vinile I have it ★★★★
A very cryptic album, perhaps Roberto's most "difficult," yet stunning. Probably the second to last gasp of the best Vecchioni, even though the next one is slightly superior. I would rate it 4.5.
Roberto Vecchioni: Di Rabbia E Di Stelle
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Not among Vecchioni's best albums, but I have to say it is enjoyable to listen to. "Le rose blu" stands out above all. Rating 7.5
Roberto Vecchioni: Il Cielo Capovolto
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Probably the absolute masterpiece of the latest Vecchioni (from 1993 onwards). Ten truly inspired tracks. Perfect album.
Roberto Vecchioni: Il Grande Sogno
CD Audio I have it ★★★
The cover is extraordinary; I bought it years ago on vinyl and CD almost just for that! The record is quite nice, but overall, nothing special. I definitely prefer Vecchioni 75-82.

Ah, but Ridi Laura is one of the most beautiful pieces written by Vecchione.
Roberto Vecchioni: Sogna, ragazzo, sogna

Same speech (and rating) as "El bandolero stanco."
Roberto Vecchioni: Elisir

Milestone, an absolutely fantastic album in every way. Ten outstanding tracks, truly inspired, perfect also from a musical standpoint. "Velasquez," damn...

Besides containing "daughter" damn it! To be honest, I've never been able to stand the "night effect."

"Daughter" my favorite of all her repertoire.
Roberto Vecchioni: Hollywood Hollywood
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
The last great album by Vecchioni. Following this, there will be good ratings again in 1993, with the resurgence of "Blumùn".
Roberto Vecchioni: Ippopotami
CD Audio I have it ★★
Perhaps the professor's worst album. I would only save "Indiscreto" and a bit of the lyrics from the title track; the rest are either filler or leftovers from previous albums. The cover is truly horrible, especially when compared to the (wonderful) ones from the previous records. 1.5 rounded up to 2.

That hippopotamus on the cover unsettles me quite a bit. It's a record I've never heard (I suppose that's more of a good thing than a loss😌)

You didn't miss anything.. I have everything by Vecchioni (excluding compilations, live albums, and the latest "L'infinito"), but I could have easily done without this and the subsequent ones until 1991.
  • Zimmy

Think that "The Infinite" is not bad at all. This, on the other hand, is a real piece of crap, undeniably.

"I have tried to avoid 'L'infinito' like the plague because I've heard enough bad things about it.. I only know the single with Guccini, and it's really bad. Do you think it's worth going back to?"
  • Zimmy

In my opinion, Vecchioni lacks a bit of self-criticism: many of his albums post-70s would have benefited from the clarity of leaving out certain tracks that simply weren't up to par. The highly publicized single with Guccini is unfortunately banal, and one might really wonder if it was worth calling upon the Maestro for such a trivial piece. The rest of the album, in my opinion, features some beautiful songs: "Una notte un viaggiatore," "Vai ragazzo," "Ogni canzone d'amore," "Parola" are, in my view, highly deserving compositions that absolutely hold their ground in the professor's latest repertoire.

Maybe I'll give him a listen these days, thanks :)

The single with Guccini is the worst track on the album. Ippopotami, even though it's bad, I can't help but like it, thanks to long car trips with my mother when I was 5 or 6, during which I dreamed about the lyrics of the title track. That it might objectively be a piece of junk is another story.
Roberto Vecchioni: Blumùn
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
After a couple of not-so-great albums, the Professor finally finds the motivation to get back up: a great album, although I slightly prefer the three that follow from the nineties.
