Camel: Mirage
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
The group in question shows incredible consistency, as it's called "Camel," and the cover features a dromedary... But it doesn't matter much, "Mirage" is a masterpiece!

No lack of consistency: in English, the term "camel" is also correct to refer to what we call a dromedary. Not by chance, the symbol of the homonymous cigarette brand is also a dromedary. :)
I haven't listened to the album (and the band) in ages, but I remember it being very beautiful. A revival is necessary...

    It was ironic XD
CAN: Tago Mago
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Spatial, a masterpiece that encompasses various different genres (prog rock, psychedelic rock) and is seminal for the music to come. "Oh Yeah" is an orgasm.
Candlemass: Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
One of the best albums ever recorded in the history of metal, powerful, slow, captivating, technically superb!

The metal that I also like. The filthy and elephantine one.
  • tonysoprano

Well, this is doom. It's more approachable and digestible than death or black metal.
  • hjhhjij
    3 aug 16
Not really. At least in the evolution of friggineuroni Doom of the '90s. Death and black are to me just silly nonsense; it's well-known that Doom is a terrifying rock in the face, and I love it.

Don't criticize death metal though 😠

I don't criticize him, but he keeps making me get thoroughly groomed. Except for the Death, whose later albums I prefer. They are still not among my favorite bands.

I love Death, they are my favorite metal band. Never mundane, never repetitive.
  • tonysoprano

In what sense later records? Which ones?
  • hjhhjij
    3 aug 16
    Those from the '90s, man.
  • hjhhjij

    Especially the triptych '93-'98.

So you mean Human, individual thought patterns, symbolic and sound of perseverance....basically their masterpieces.
  • tonysoprano

Even though ALL the Death albums are of the highest quality

What I like the most is definitely "Sound of Perseverance" :D I'm not a big fan of them and I don't listen to them much, but as a band, they have all my respect.
Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band: Safe As Milk
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
One of the best debuts ever...
One of the most Dadaist works ever created by man can be both art and a photonic shit, but the Captain's intent is to establish a new musical conception, and he does so by drawing from primordial blues. Simply genius!!
The first album by Caravan: an awesome rhythm section and magnificent songs in their complex simplicity. Great!

Caravan: In The Land Of Grey And Pink
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Monumental... "Nine Feet Underground" is worth 20 lives... a continuous change of rhythm occurs with terrifying fluidity. MAJESTIC, PERFECT, MASTERPIECE!
Caravan: Waterloo Lily
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Another record by Caravan, in my view slightly "inferior" to "In The Land Of Grey And Pink," but not to the extent that it prevents me from giving it 5 stars.

For me too, it's their last album at a very high level, even though I also appreciate some subsequent albums, which I think are good.

So is the post-Waterloo Lily career of Caravan valid?
What a record... in some ways, Catherine Ribeiro, with her euphoric and powerful psychedelic voice, reminds me of Grace Slick, even though it’s obviously just my impression...
It doesn't matter whether the CCCP were actually "communists" or not; this album is objectively a masterpiece.
A furious yet refined free jazz, ideal for capturing the decay and paranoia of the African American community: this is The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady.
This is the first and only movie I've seen. I mean, it's decent, but couldn't Rowling have characterized Harry Potter better?? Goodness, it's boring, trivial, and annoying. Thank goodness for Snape, who saves the film. It's a very overrated movie!
"Fortunate Son"... and that's all I need to say.
Creedence Clearwater Revival: Cosmo's Factory
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
The intro with "Ramble Tamble" immediately makes two things clear: The Creedence Clearwater Revival mean business; the maturity of this phenomenal group. It's a superlative album, just over 40 minutes of pure show.
Czeslaw Niemen: Dziwny jest ten swiat
File Audio I have it ★★★★
No one has evaluated Czeslaw Niemen yet... well, I’ll take care of it... an interesting beat debut, still a bit raw, with hints of a maturity that will come later.
Czeslaw Niemen: Niemen Enigmatic
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
One of the greatest masterpieces produced by Polish rock music and, moreover, one of the most incredible albums in the history of singer-songwriter and progressive...a bow to Mr. Niemen is more than deserved...
