2Pac: All Eyez On Me
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Amazing album from a top-notch rapper
Abba: Gold: Greatest Hits
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
She deserves them all, one of the most important collections of my life. Thank you ABBA, forever!
AC/DC: Highway To Hell
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
I hate AC/DC for what they would become after Bon Scott's death, but I have to admit that I love this album because at least it has that kind of hard rock that I like, raw and simple.
Akira Toriyama: Dragon Ball
Cartaceo I have it ★★★★
A great manga at least until the Frieza saga. If it had ended there, it would have been definitely better. Ah, the drawings, they may not be like those of Kentaro Miura or Naoki Urasawa, but at least they aren't like those of the Knights of the Zodiac (which I struggle to read because of those awful drawings).
Albert Ayler: Spiritual Unity

Exaggerated free-jazz discone...

I reviewed it not long ago, but under the name (historically more accurate) of Albert Ayler Trio. A fantastic album.

I know little about jazz... is it correct to call it Free Jazz?
  • lector

He said, "call it energy music." But, yes, it’s free jazz.

Ah ok. It's just that I'm a beginner with jazz.

Thank you for reading and voting on it. But you need to comment if you want your passage and your vote to remain.
One of the greatest masterpieces of Italian and world comedy. Stunning. I still laugh at certain scenes, even knowing them by heart.
Almendra: Almendra
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
"Classic" album, very important for Argentine rock. A psychedelic rock with a touch of progressive that makes it very enjoyable. Slightly immature, but it's just the beginning of Luis Alberto Spinetta's career.
Area: Crac!
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Perhaps the first true masterpiece of Area, perhaps even better than the grand debut "Arbeit Macht Frei." "L'Elefante Bianco" and "Gioia e Rivoluzione" are two perfect business cards to introduce this magnificent album.
Area: Arbeit Macht Frei
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Magnetic debut for Area, who immediately lay their cards on the table and deliver 6 breathtaking songs. Through direct and simple lyrics, the haunting vocalizations of Stratos, the frenzied percussion of Capiozzo, and social criticism, Area establish themselves right away as the best Italian band. Stunning.
Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso: Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso

Debut THAT'S AMAZING. Crazy!

After all, it's my favorite band, I'm fond of them. The suite is beautiful, "Metamorphosis" is excellent, but it's "RIP" the song that is worth a career.
  • tonysoprano

And where do we want to place "Il Giardino Del Mago"?

  • tonysoprano
    5 jun 16
The piano solo in Metamorphosis is tremendously intense.
  • once I liked it a lot, now it almost makes me feel pity (which is a very relative now, the last time I listened to it was probably a year ago). It should also be noted that prog, with VERY RARE exceptions, doesn’t appeal to me (anymore).
  • tonysoprano
    6 jun 16
Very often progressive groups risk getting lost in monotony, eventually losing their originality. Exceptions being Area (even if they are not exactly prog) and Van Der Graaf Generator, who managed to always be new, fresh, without ever falling into gross banality.

The 26 most cruel and ruthless minutes ever heard by my eardrums. AMAZING DEBUT!
Bathory: The Return......
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Another blow right in the face. Stop them, or they’ll kill me!
Björk: Debut
File Audio I have it ★★★★
Bjork drives me insane in an incredible way, not because of her, but because of her fans who consider her the best singer ever (which she isn't, despite her undeniable technical talent). The vocalizations are grand, the music, at least, is decent, not exceptional, with some interesting ideas. I would say she deserves the 4 balls. Well done Björk, I would have given you 1 ball for each album, but after all, mutatis mutandis, opinions change :)
  • hjhhjij
    2 sep 16
Oh well, this is exactly the Bjork I like the most... Very nice pop album. And the next two are also very beautiful. After that, I don't know, it grabs me less.
  • tonysoprano

I dared to say at the beginning that I didn't like it, on Facebook... needless to say, they wanted to kill me, they called me a down!

Some new artists have been recommended to me by some "good" users (I don't know how to define them).
Black Sabbath: Sabotage
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Maybe, maybe I think I’ve understood where thrash metal could have been born... "Symptom Of The Universe" RULES
Black Sabbath: Paranoid
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Would heavy metal have been born without "Paranoid," "Deep Purple In Rock," and "Led Zeppelin II"?? I doubt it.
Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Revisited
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
A magnificent masterpiece by Bob Dylan, who here raises the bar of compositional and lyrical quality, gifting us one of the most beautiful albums of all time. "Like A Rolling Stone," "Ballad Of A Thin Man," and "Desolation Row" (my favorite from the album) speak for themselves...
Bob Dylan: Bringing It All Back Home
File Audio I have it ★★★★
An album of remarkable craftsmanship and seminal quality, pushing Bob Dylan towards more "aggressive" and direct sounds. It's still far from Highway 61 Revisited, but it remains a great album nonetheless.
Bob Dylan: Time Out of Mind
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
If someone at 56 years old can still create masterpieces like this, you can only bow down to such genius...
Camel: Mirage
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
The group in question shows incredible consistency, as it's called "Camel," and the cover features a dromedary... But it doesn't matter much, "Mirage" is a masterpiece!
  • Zimmy
    20 jun 16
No lack of consistency: in English, the term "camel" is also correct to refer to what we call a dromedary. Not by chance, the symbol of the homonymous cigarette brand is also a dromedary. :)
I haven't listened to the album (and the band) in ages, but I remember it being very beautiful. A revival is necessary...
  • tonysoprano
    28 jun 16
    It was ironic XD
CAN: Tago Mago
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Spatial, a masterpiece that encompasses various different genres (prog rock, psychedelic rock) and is seminal for the music to come. "Oh Yeah" is an orgasm.
Candlemass: Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
One of the best albums ever recorded in the history of metal, powerful, slow, captivating, technically superb!
  • hjhhjij
    2 aug 16
The metal that I also like. The filthy and elephantine one.
  • tonysoprano
    3 aug 16
Well, this is doom. It's more approachable and digestible than death or black metal.
  • hjhhjij
    3 aug 16
Not really. At least in the evolution of friggineuroni Doom of the '90s. Death and black are to me just silly nonsense; it's well-known that Doom is a terrifying rock in the face, and I love it.
  • tonysoprano
    3 aug 16
Don't criticize death metal though 😠
  • hjhhjij
    3 aug 16
I don't criticize him, but he keeps making me get thoroughly groomed. Except for the Death, whose later albums I prefer. They are still not among my favorite bands.
  • tonysoprano
    3 aug 16
I love Death, they are my favorite metal band. Never mundane, never repetitive.
  • tonysoprano
    3 aug 16
In what sense later records? Which ones?
  • hjhhjij
    3 aug 16
    Those from the '90s, man.
  • hjhhjij
    3 aug 16
    Especially the triptych '93-'98.
  • tonysoprano
    3 aug 16
So you mean Human, individual thought patterns, symbolic and sound of perseverance....basically their masterpieces.
  • tonysoprano
    3 aug 16
Even though ALL the Death albums are of the highest quality
  • hjhhjij
    3 aug 16
What I like the most is definitely "Sound of Perseverance" :D I'm not a big fan of them and I don't listen to them much, but as a band, they have all my respect.
Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band: Safe As Milk
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
One of the best debuts ever...
One of the most Dadaist works ever created by man can be both art and a photonic shit, but the Captain's intent is to establish a new musical conception, and he does so by drawing from primordial blues. Simply genius!!
The first album by Caravan: an awesome rhythm section and magnificent songs in their complex simplicity. Great!

Caravan: In The Land Of Grey And Pink
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Monumental... "Nine Feet Underground" is worth 20 lives... a continuous change of rhythm occurs with terrifying fluidity. MAJESTIC, PERFECT, MASTERPIECE!
Caravan: Waterloo Lily
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Another record by Caravan, in my view slightly "inferior" to "In The Land Of Grey And Pink," but not to the extent that it prevents me from giving it 5 stars.
  • hjhhjij
    26 aug 16
For me too, it's their last album at a very high level, even though I also appreciate some subsequent albums, which I think are good.
  • tonysoprano
    26 aug 16
So is the post-Waterloo Lily career of Caravan valid?
What a record... in some ways, Catherine Ribeiro, with her euphoric and powerful psychedelic voice, reminds me of Grace Slick, even though it’s obviously just my impression...
It doesn't matter whether the CCCP were actually "communists" or not; this album is objectively a masterpiece.
A furious yet refined free jazz, ideal for capturing the decay and paranoia of the African American community: this is The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady.
This is the first and only movie I've seen. I mean, it's decent, but couldn't Rowling have characterized Harry Potter better?? Goodness, it's boring, trivial, and annoying. Thank goodness for Snape, who saves the film. It's a very overrated movie!
"Fortunate Son"... and that's all I need to say.
Creedence Clearwater Revival: Cosmo's Factory
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
The intro with "Ramble Tamble" immediately makes two things clear: The Creedence Clearwater Revival mean business; the maturity of this phenomenal group. It's a superlative album, just over 40 minutes of pure show.
Czeslaw Niemen: Dziwny jest ten swiat
File Audio I have it ★★★★
No one has evaluated Czeslaw Niemen yet... well, I’ll take care of it... an interesting beat debut, still a bit raw, with hints of a maturity that will come later.
Czeslaw Niemen: Niemen Enigmatic
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
One of the greatest masterpieces produced by Polish rock music and, moreover, one of the most incredible albums in the history of singer-songwriter and progressive...a bow to Mr. Niemen is more than deserved...
Dante Alighieri: La Divina Commedia
Cartaceo I have it ★★★★★
Let's start with this premise: I am a novice in literature, and since I haven't read the entire Divina Commedia, I can't make a complete judgment about Dante (in fact, I've "only" read the most important cantos). Nevertheless, the Divina Commedia is an immense masterpiece, a milestone that should be read at least once in a lifetime, whether for school obligation or personal interest. In this work, Dante denounces a corrupt and ruthless world but hints at a glimmer of hope for the future in a very poetic finale.
Masterpiece! What other words could I use to describe it?! 11 stunning songs that tell the memorable tales of Ziggy Stardust, an alien who landed by chance on a world rife with corruption and hypocrisy.
  • Mr. Money87
    22 aug 16
I've listened to this album a hell of a lot of times and I still can’t appreciate it. Let’s say Bowie has never really driven me wild. I couldn't tell you why... It's definitely a limitation on my part, but I just can’t get into it! However, I don’t rule out the possibility of changing my mind in the future, as has already happened with other artists...
  • tonysoprano
    22 aug 16
A matter of taste. For example, I prefer Bowie to Springsteen, who still doesn't drive me crazy.
David Bowie: Hunky Dory
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Bought at a quite reasonable price (€10.99). A masterpiece that finally heralds Bowie's talent. "Changes" and "Life On Mars?" are undoubtedly shining gems within this stunning album.
Death: Symbolic
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
The Madonna...jokes aside, one of my absolute favorites. The absolute masterpiece by Death, which marks their definitive consecration as the best metal band ever. There's nothing to say, everything they do is gold.
  • Hank Monk
    3 may 16
for me too, it’s their/his best or at least the one I’m most attached to.
  • De...Marga...
    4 may 16
Human is better, just a bit, but that's how it's always been for me. I think I’m one of the few who has seen Death live twice... Zero Tolerance...
  • tonysoprano
    4 may 16
Damn, what a butt. I like Human, but I'll always prefer Symbolic.
  • De...Marga...
    4 may 16
So Symbolic is definitely more complete, more polished in its details, played brilliantly by a lineup that impressed with its technical skills. However, Human is more compact, more overwhelming. Just think of the opening trio "Flattening of Emotions-Suicide Machine-Together As One." Chuck was a huge innovator in the Metal realm.
  • Psychopathia
    4 may 16
I also prefer Human, even though, in the end, the last 4 albums by Death are all great.
  • De...Marga...
    4 may 16
I would also include Spiritual Healing.
  • Psychopathia
    4 may 16
spiritual healing I don't have it, damn it! I only have the last 4
  • Hank Monk
    4 may 16
Spiritual Healing is my least favorite. Leprosy, for instance, I'm particularly attached to (the first one I bought, with that orange CD... awesome). Human was a breath of fresh air. There’s Cosmic Sea and above all their best song in my opinion: Lack Of Comprehension :) Dema, you know I kind of envy you for all the amazing concerts you've seen :)
  • Marco Orsi
    4 may 16
Well, I much prefer the first two albums by Death: "Scream Bloody Gore" and "Leprosy". Badass and uncompromising Thrash/Death. However, I also loved "Symbolic" a lot. I rank it, along with "Human", among the best of the second phase.
  • De...Marga...
    4 may 16
Unfortunately, Hank Monk, I have to disagree with you! Of course, I respect opinions, but when it comes to Death, I can say there isn't a worst album of theirs! I appreciate them all, even the first two which are much more raw and focused on absolute executional violence. With Spiritual Healing, Chuck starts looking forward, with tracks like the title track and Living Monstruosity, progressing in sound, seeking greater cohesiveness, and stretching the duration times of the individual songs. I saw them live twice: I was completely destroyed in the wild pogo that erupted. What a thrill, damn it. What an extraordinary band Death was; it's a shame it all ended too soon. Sometimes I can't help but wonder how far Chuck could have pushed his innate genius... COSMIC SEA...
  • Hank Monk
    4 may 16
I must have written this several times already, but: a Spiritual Healing for Obituary was a masterpiece (Cause Of Death). For Death, it was a transitional period. I prefer the raw and badass violence of the first two. And the exciting controlled and ultra-technical violence of the later phase.
  • De...Marga...
    4 may 16
Hank, you surely know that on both albums, Spiritual Healing and Cause of Death, that marvel of a guitarist James Murphy played the six-string; you also know that the Death album was released in February 1990 and the Obituary one in the fall of the same year. All this to say that the band of the Tardy brothers took a lot of inspiration from the Death sound of that period, thanks to James' presence, who surely brought with him the experience gained a few months earlier with Chuck Schuldiner's band. Two albums that are always and anyway devastating, even though I prefer Spiritual. Hey dude...TURNED INSIDE OUT...
  • Hank Monk
    4 may 16
:) I completely agree with your analysis (and I didn’t mention the Cause of Death by chance). This is to emphasize that an album like this cannot be considered bad (its twin is the gem of the Obituary discography). However, in a series of albums that are so beautiful, for me it remains the least focused.
  • tonysoprano

Meanwhile, a state discussion about Death kicks off. Because I wrote this definition.

    9 may 16
Sure! Please send me the text you'd like me to translate.

    10 may 16
Well, Tony. I don't think it's bad that people talk about it, so I'm glad you wrote the definition.
  • tonysoprano
    10 may 16
The problem is that a discussion has started about the best Death album...
  • Hank Monk
    10 may 16
Well, it doesn't seem like a "discussion" to me at all... basically, we said that they're all good-looking. We just have different opinions on who is the least good-looking :)
Death: Individual Thought Patterns

I am an amateur; there are those who have a broader knowledge than me from a musical perspective.
  • De...Marga...
    23 may 16
I have expressed my total love for Death many times; and their greatest album will forever remain the unattainable "Human" (34 minutes of auditory bliss). I have always considered "Individual Thought Patterns" to be the heaviest, most metal album due to the participation of that guitar phenomenon named Andy LaRocque. And when you also have Gene Hoglan and Steve DiGiorgio at your disposal, a new masterpiece couldn't help but emerge. I am deeply attached to the album because it’s the only work by Death that I own on vinyl, since way back in 1993...MENTALLY BLIND...
  • lector
    23 may 16
Tony, don't be touchy! I just wanted to have a little fun with you. I was trying to tell you that you have all the time to define them all, so don't rush.
Actually, I'm just a bit envious: I envy you the joy of discovery.
But don't stay so anchored to the past; the young must live in the future. It's the curse of the old to live in the past. And what about people like me? Well, people like me have to deal with the present...............
Deep purple: In Rock
