Jackson Browne: Late For The Sky
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Many consider it his masterpiece; I would simply say it is an excellent work, perhaps his most intimate, sophisticated, and melancholic album, on par with or maybe more than the previous two works. Excellent songwriting, a refined author, and a stunning voice—one of the greatest American singer-songwriters of all time, as demonstrated by gems of great beauty such as "Late for the Sky," "Fountain of Sorrow," and the closing track "Before the Deluge"...

Janis Joplin: Pearl

What can we say about this album? A masterpiece from the Texan singer, a voice that can be sweet yet powerful and deadly (with a hint of smooth Southern Comfort). From "Cry Baby" to "Me and Bobby McGee," sheer class...

    I love this album! Beautiful.
Jeff Beck: Wired
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
One of my favorites from a sometimes underrated guitarist, but of great talent.
Jeff Beck Group: Truth
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
A seminal group in the history of rock blues, which alongside their cousins the Zeppelins, kicked off (according to many) hard rock in its early form. Beck showcases all the qualities he already displayed with the Yardbirds, while Stewart spits fire and brimstone with his voice. A really great record...

Great album, man. The version of Shapes of Things is a thousand times more beautiful than the original. The version of "You Shook Me" is also very nice, although I personally believe that LedZep 1's is unbeatable. The rest is gorgeous.

"You Shook Me" in both versions is emblematic for understanding the entire stylistic difference between Page and Becko.

Great album, of course for me after the unattainable Beck-Ola.
Jefferson Airplane: After Bathing At Baxter's
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
My favorite from the Frisco group, perhaps the most psychedelic album of the Californian band...

It is. "Spare Chaynge" I think says it all, regarding this.

I find it really hard to choose between this, Surrealistic Pillow, and Volunteers. I might slightly prefer this one too, but I’m not sure...

Oh... one of the most important, then there are acidic nuances and heavily thumped bass drums as heavy as cannonballs. but how strong were the JA!!!

I hadn't heard them in years..... always better...
Jerry Garcia: Garcia
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
A "special" album for me. Year '72, the first solo work of "Uncle Jerry," unmistakable guitar, "Deal," "Sugaree," all memorable songs...
Jethro Tull: Minstrel In The Gallery
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Among my all-time favorites from the English band, tough and complex tracks alternating with beautiful acoustic ballads, great arrangements, medieval atmospheres. "Cold Wind To Valhalla" is my favorite on an album filled with excellent songs, year 1975...
Joe Cocker: Joe Cocker!
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Second album from the Lion of Sheffield, second great work. The contemporary "With a Little Help..." is better, more complete, but this record comes close, especially thanks to "Delta Lady" by the late Leon Russell, "Bird on a Wire" by the great Cohen, and Beatles covers like "Something" and "She Came Through The Bathroom Window," simply enchanting. To be on the safe side, it's advisable to listen to Mad Dog & Englishman, his third live album, which contains all of them, featuring a Cocker + band in exceptional shape.

Oh yes, it's a great album. You know, he won me over late, but he is certainly one of the best interpreters of the time.
John Campbell: Howlin Mercy
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Dismal, unsettling, profound, a gloomy and diabolical atmosphere... a personal tribute to one of the greats of blues, "The Wolf" Chester Burnett. Excellent work by the "sorcerer" Campbell, master of the slide and a prominent figure in recent blues...

Luciferian, dark, gloomy, and extraordinary. Great hellr.

Re-listened to just today, along with the previous "One Believer," which I actually consider to be an even slightly better gem. Of course, these are two luciferian albums, but they offer a “living” pleasure in the dark flow of long, stormy songs with a voice that comes from the abyss. AN EXTRAORDINARY interpreter, who left us on the night between June 12 and 13, 1993... A date I will never forget because I officially started dating my partner for life. A huge revival of hellraiser.
John Lee Hooker & Canned Heat: Hooker 'n Heat
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
1917-2017. Happy birthday John Lee, you would have been 100 years old... in this immense album with Canned Heat.
John Martyn: The Tumbler

And indeed, sponsoring John Martyn is a duty and an honor.
Listening to it on repeat today, still a great album, with an exciting lineup...
Johnny Winter: Second Winter
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Surely one of the best, if not the best, from the Texan guitarist, featuring two covers of the highest instrumental and qualitative level such as Dylan's "Highway 61" and the classic "Johnny B Good" from his musical "father" Berry, but with a badass and fierce "Memory Pain"...
Joni Mitchell: Hejira

Jorma Kaukonen: Quah
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
An absolute masterpiece for me, a sparse and simple album but with a tremendous impact. My favorite Kaukonen, with exceptional guitar technique and style. "Genesis" but not only, among his originals and interpretations of old traditionals and old blues, a showcase of great tracks...

Joy Division: Closer

Well, I’m re-evaluating them a lot after the numerous listens these days. They’re not really my style in terms of sound, but this album has its reasons and I’m delving into it. For now, I won’t vote; I want to understand it better...
Judas Priest: Sad Wings Of Destiny
Vinile I have it ★★★★★
Simply one of the best heavy metal albums of all time.
Juicy Lucy: Lie Back and Enjoy It
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
An excellent rock-blues album that's really powerful, perhaps the best work of a very short career that lasted hardly a handful of albums. Soon after, in fact, the English band will disband and fade into obscurity, unfortunately...
July: July
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Little-known English psychedelic band of the '60s, a "meteor" that managed to create this excellent album from 1968. Stunning "My Clown" and "Dandelion Seeds" written by singer Newman. Great album, a pleasure to listen to...
