A record so beautiful that I don't know what the hell to write, perfect from start to finish, from I Zimbra to Cities, from Living During Wartime to Air, from Heaven to Drugs, I'm speechless. My favorite of the Heads.

    9 oct 14
Your line ("I'm sorry for you") may seem like a joke, but I don't take it that way. It's so famous that they throw it around every now and then. A real drama as far as I'm concerned.

Sometimes a song is played so many times that it can become "hateful." The most famous tracks by Nirvana and the Rolling Stones come to mind, but there are others... You know, there are songs and artists that are terrible and even get "awarded," while Jessica, in my humble opinion, remains a decent track in comparison. Certainly not outstanding...

Four out of six died on the cursed plane with Otis Redding. It would be good to remember them as the greatest backing band of instrumental R&B, alongside Booker T. & the MG's and the Mar-Kays.

Please, even though I don't know what you should thank me for...;)) Knowing the Bar-Kays? Well, for me, ever since James Brown struck me on the path of Black music, it has been a contractual obligation with myself.

Not bad...
  • SilasLang

It's hard for me to remember a band more 'confused' than the Cult. They started off goth, back when goth and new wave were at their peak. After the boom of that hair metal/street/glam crap, they turned in that direction too, only to embrace grunge in the '90s with their last self-titled work in '94, if I recall correctly. This has always made me see them as "jumping on the bandwagon of the winners." Even if that album wasn't bad at all. I should give it a listen again...

They reached the peaks later, yet I really like this very "post-punk" debut; it's a little gem. And in this early 1980 version, there's an extra "Killing An Arab" compared to the already beautiful '79 version, which is not a small feat because for me, it’s one of their best songs.
