    Creation on paper. Which, technically, also applies to the Clash, but I don't know... the Pistols have always rubbed me the wrong way. And then Malcom McLaren destroyed the NYDolls for me.

    Look, it’s not exactly like that. Sure, McLaren played a significant role first with his Sex boutique and then as a manager, but if you read their history closely, many punk characteristics were already present in the band members. As always (this applies to Presley, the Beatles, etc.), it was a well-timed mix. If you can't stand them, that's another story. I think the dolls had self-destruction in their DNA.
