Ecco la mia personalissima classifica! Ho voluto inserire anche gruppi che esulano dal death metal canonico, nonostante il legame con esso rimanga inevitabile: interpretatela come una classifica death in senso generico, ampio. Oltre le prime posizioni è molto difficile stabilire una gerarchia corretta, ma ho cercato di ordinare gli artisti tenendo conto della loro bravura, dell'importanza e, ovviamente, delle mie preferenze.
